I have REPOSTED this for a NEW member . .

CAN YOU GET DIFFICULTIES CONCEIVING AFTER A C SECTION by KirstyLD (Yesterday 11pm) (rank 500+)

With my first baby I fell pregnant very quickly and gave birth to her with an epidural.  My second child was born with an emergency C section.  I lost 3 pints of blood and had to have a blood transfusion.  I also fell very quickly with him.

The question I have is Im trying for my third child.  Its been 4 months now and no pregnancy.  I know some might say thats hardly a long time to be trying but my first two children were conceived literally within a few times of trying.  Im wondering whether the fact I had an emergency C section and lost blood is the reason Im now having trouble conceiving.

Does anyone have any similar stories they could share with me?  I am 32 now and my last child was born when I was 30 so Im thinking perhaps being over 30 is now making it harder to conceive too.

you will not have any trouble as long as you wait a couple of years after and your body is back to normal.bare in mind that you can have anatural delivery but a higher risk of uterus eruption(best talk to you midwife or child health nurse about this) i had 3 successful natural births after my ceasar.you have no problem if you fell quickly with your other

I had a similar situation with my C-section, it was an emergency and I had to have 2 units of blood via transfusion afterwards. I also have two extensions in my uterus, the surgeon who carried out the C-section told me I would not have a problem conceiiving again, but I would in labour. I have since had two miscarriages and an ectopic pregnancy (all at 6 weeks) and I am convinced the reason the problems we are having is related to the C-section.. however, I had complications in that I had been in labour for 4 days and it was basically a 'dry' birth. I am sure it is not your age, but speak to your OBGYN and ask them to investigate if you are concerned.

Re: I have REPOSTED this for a NEW member . .

I was a older mum and i had my first by c-section and lost alot of blood and baby was born prem through a hospital f**k up. I fell preg withing the first 4 -6 months after having her and then had a child through c-section again second time round.

I did fall preg again after that but misscarried, that was also within 6 months of having my second.

You should have no problem falling preg and if you are then go to the doctors to seek other posible reasons why its not happening. The c-section and blood trans shouldnt stop you from  falling preg.

good luck and hope all goes well for you.
