Re: can u still be pregnant if told you've had a miscarrige??
It is possible to still have positive pregnancy tests for a few weeks after a miscarriage. This is because the hormones in your body take a little while to settle down again after the loss of the pregnancy.
It is also possible to bleed in the early stages of pregnancy. Apparently, it is quite common. This bleeding is called implantation bleeding and occurs when the embryo is attaching to the wall of the uterus. While it is normal to happen, it is still advised that you have it checked by a doctor just in case it is the start of a miscarriage.
I have had 5 miscarriages and I only bled with 4 of them. The other one, I didn't find out that I had lost my baby until the 16 week ultra sound. My body kept going as though I was still pregnant and I had to have a d&c to solve the problem. With the ones where I did bleed, it wasn't just blood clots, I had the full fetal tissues and all, which is how I knew it was a miscarriage and not just a out of sync period.
You really need to be checked out by your doctor because it is possible that you are still pregnant and that everything is just fine. A scary thing to deal with, I know, but it is better to know what is going on than let things get worse.
Hang in there and even if you are miscarrying, there is no reason why you can't try again in the next few months.
