is it possible??

ok might sound really silly as his only 7weeks old but i think ashton is teething!! He is really irritable, screaming for no reason with his fists in his mouth and drooling everywhere. His cheeks look flushed, his had a little bt of a temp, its normally 36.5 tonight it was 37 but im not sure if it was just from crying but i gave him some panadol anyway. He isnt sleeping properly either. Ive feelt his gums and the top on the left and the botttom looks really white and it feels rough and pointy there.

So is it possible at 7weeks???

I see a paediatrition on Monday so ill be asking then but just wantd to know if this sort of thing is possible so young.

Dannii xxo

Re: is it possible??

I was born with 2 front teeth (bottom 2) and they were the last to fall out too. I was then 2 months old when I got more. I also was born with almost as much hair as I do have now. I love my baby pics as it was jet black too. LOL Yes Mum had heart burn too.

But yes it is possible for him to be getting teeth.

Re: is it possible??

i have heard of it happening that early just not often. try teething gel, my son loves to chew on a cold facewasher ( i just wet it and put it in the fridge for a bit)  he loves it just make sure its not to cold.  teething toys work wonders. but just on the off chance see the gp

Re: is it possible??

entirely possible,my 1 of my sons and my youngest daughter had this dribbling and hard swollen gums and you discribed  and though the teeth may not cut this early they are certainly moving.are his gums hard or swollen? then yes,bonjela/teething gel i feel is better than panadol when he hasn't got fever and is grizzly. i recommend also that not to worry to much about the slight high temp.it's when the temp goes over 37.2dc (that is considered fever)you should worry and if it doesn't go down with panadol see ya doc.

Re: is it possible??

Yes; early teething is possible. Even if no teeth actually show, they can move about in the gums quite a bit before they get their direction right. But he could be sick too. If teething gel/clove oil doesn't work, best take him to a doctor; high temperatures in babies are always worth checking out.

Re: is it possible??

I would not recommend clove oil unless it's very very diluted with something have you tried it??it takes your breath away and it burns your lips as it's SO strong.i definately would not give my babies clove oil.if in doubt giving your babies this sort of thing try it yourself FIRST.

Re: is it possible??

I agree about the teething gel.  Jordan got his first teeth at 8weeks, one on sunday the second on monday.  The white gums is a sure sign also.  Hope all settles down soon.

Re: is it possible??

Hey Dannii

Definately possible. Austin started teething very early too... Just give him some bonjela on his gum. Just a little bit and see if that helps him. Try some soft teething rings too.

Re: is it possible??

Hi Dannii, Yes it is possiblke for Ashton to be teething my eldest got her first tooth at  10 weeks old and from then on it was full steam ahead. She would get at least 2 teeth at a time every few months. So it could be possible. Try putting a tiny bit of teething gel on his gums and see if that helps him at all. Also available from most chemists is a liquid called"Infants Friend" it is all natural and you can give it to babies as often as you want  and helps with teething pain, insettled babies or children, constipation and just about anything lese  you may need it for wind, and the list goes on. Try this if you can get some and give Ashton this. I used this on my last child as she was constipated for about 1 week we tried everything i then found infants friend and between that and other medication she was soon going normally. I also used it if she was unsettled during the day or night and when teething.

I hope this hel[ps you

Hugs Michelle

Totally possible. My friends bub is now four months old and started teething at 2 months.. I freaked out when I saw them. I could not believe it. But it is true.. It can happen.. :)

Re: is it possible??

Some babies can be born with teeth so anything is likely, although I would be more likely to think it may be just a natural behaviour and he could be either trying to tell you he is hungry or in a little uncomfortable. I would ask your paediatrition to have a look.

Re: is it possible??

Hey Clare,

I can rule out the hungry part cos even when he has finished a bottle and refuses to have anymore he is still sucking his fists and crying but he wont take anymore milk, will definetly be talking to the paed about it.

Thanks for the reply.
