Blighted ovum

I have been recently told by my doctor that they suspect i may have a blighted ovum. This terifys me as I can't get it out of my head and think positively especially when none of my more "in tune" friends have made any comment other than positve ones on my pregnancy. Even when I told them I had fears and ask quite plainly!

Is there anyone out there who has had the possibility of a blighted ovum that has turned out ok? Just needed to wait an extra week or so for confirmation and it's all been fine?

Re: Blighted ovum

hey, firstly, I sincerely hope its not blighted ovum. My last pregnancy was a blighted ovum, and if this is the case there is only one outcome and unfortunately not a pleasant one for anyone to experience. If it has been discovered via u/s and you are in the early stages, it can be a positive outcome, If you are under 5 wks it may be bub is just too small to see, or if you may have your dates a little wrong and be earlier than first thought. Normally your doc will do a beta hcg test with follow ups (normally one done every 2-3 days and 3 or 4 tests in total) and if your hormone (the beta hcg) is dropping then it may very well be blighted ovum.

I have written an article on my experience with it feel free to swing by and read it. If you want to talk about it just minti mail me but I really hope it is a positive outcome. Best wishes. xx.
