twisted foot?

Mackezies just gone 2 many times ive questioned his feet looking strange, when standing he bears weight to the inside this is more noticable on the left, by chance i caught a glimse of the bottems of his feet and it is freeky he has no arch... i examined and its lightly swollen out but not enflamed like a recent injury...ive watched him walking and he puts alot of pressure on his big toes his ankcle appears to be to far in, if that makes sence, he isnt complaining hes having fun as always but im sure its not normal,

i had thought he cld have injured him self a few weeks ago climbing...but he was soon up and about hystericle mummy was told he's fine...

now im wondering is this a conditon i need to get looked at or cld it be broken?

Re: twisted foot?

Well I've watched him all afternoon when dressed he looks fine, walks fine but I made Bobby take a look when he got home and I've left a message with the HV to make sure she's visiting Bailey next week and while she's here check on Mac... As we can't get in touch with anyone as it's weekend so other than driving to blackburn A&E were stuffed, urgent care dont class this as needs to be seen asap unlike me who's worrid sick...I know they'll get it sorted but that isnt helping me now...arghhhh

thanks everyone

hugs jo xxx

Re: twisted foot?

I would go see someone. their bones are still soft and growing i would sort it out while he is young so anything that it may be corrected, it's now.it could become a problem later in his life when the bones have hardened .but on the other hand it just could be the way he is??get peice of mind and see either a pedeatrician or podiatrist.like shazz  said orthotics may help his gate if fitted correctly(they even take moulds of the foot so they can make them just for your Little man but are very expensive) as they correct the enlinement of the foot, ankle knee and hips and up the spine also.I had them as a child and teenager and it lessoned sport injury's

Re: twisted foot?

Sounds like you need to get someone to look at him.  Do youhave a health visitor/plunkett nurse/pediatrician you can call or visit who will take a look and possibly refer him if they think there is something wrong?

If there is a problem the sooner it is checked out and looked into officially the sooner they can do something about it and potentially prevent it being a lifelong condition.

From what you have said it possibly does not bother him because it is 'natural' to his experience.  I hope that you get it sorted soon

Peace

Re: twisted foot?

I wouldn't worry to much.  Children normally have flat feet until 2 to 3 years old.

You can get it checked if you are worried.  The treatment for flat feet when a child is older is orthodics.  They vary in size depending on the extent of the problem.  Orthodics only make a difference when worn in their shoes, they don't actually change the foot.

If you are worried about his stance, Clarks and Grosby make sandals and shoes with a raised instep which acts in a similar fashion to an orthodic.

Hope this helps.
