My little guy is 15 months. He has loads of little blisters on his thumb, one appeared last week and now there is lots. They are not anywhere else. He does suck his thumb if that makes any difference. Anybody came accross this before?

Re: blisters

i sucked my thumb growing up. my parents did everything possible to make me stopi quit on my own when i was 15 and surprisingly, started again while i was pregnant with both my kids. i never got any blisters from it. i was thinking foot and mouth disease also. you should see your dr, those blisters can be pretty painful.

Re: blisters

Try some cortisone(sp) cream. I get blisters over my hands & mine is dermatitis.  You can get5 it from any chemist & it helps any rash.

Re: blisters

As long as the blisters are not becoming infected I don't think you have anthing to worry about, it sounds like your little fellow is just getting carried away with sucking his thumb....but if you are concerned talk to your doctor on your next visit with them.

Could it be foot and mouth disease? Talk to your GP

Re: blisters

my son gets them on his fingers from time to time, my Gp said it was from chewing on his fingers,  i was told to replace his fingers with a chewing toy. it works, sometimes.

if your concerned see your local GP/ Health nurse for a solution to stopthe blisters.

hope this helped a little

Re: blisters

That happened to me. :)

I sucked my thumb fairly late. Late enough that I can remember it.

I seem to remember getting blisters on the elbow portion of my thumb.

I never bothered to quit sucking my thumb as my parents often asked me to.

One day I just forgot. It was like a week later and I was lying in bed. I realized that I had forgotten to stick my thumb in my mouth. I hadn't done it in about a week and it didn't feel right. I never did it again.

Bummer, cause I like it. :)
