To those who chose to rock/cuddle their babies to sleep

Just wondering how long it went on for before they were able to go to bed on their own and how did you transition to it. I love  the before bed cuddles and it doesn't affect her sleeping through the night. DD is now 13 months old.

Just Curious

Re: To those who chose to rock/cuddle their babies to sleep

If memory serves me well my son was about 15 months old, but always had cuddle time before putting him in his on bed. Sometimes when he was unsettled I would lay with him a while which always seemed to work.

I wish you well.

Regards Janice

Re: To those who chose to rock/cuddle their babies to sleep

My son is 13 months old aswell. I dont rock him to sleep - he is too heavy - but i do the same as Nicky. I give him his bottle and lay down with him and cuddle him. Some nights i will lay with him for half hour, other times i will only stay 5 mins and put him in his cot drowsy. He does cry for about a minute when he is drowsy, but he falls asleep soon after. I dont really want this to stop either, but i am finding that if i want someone else to put him to bed, it is a bit of a mission coz they dont want to lay with him.

Jade is 13mths old too and i tried to just put her down say night but she would crack it, but instead of rocking her i lay down hugging her and she just goes to sleep, then i put her to bed and she stays there alnight. I dont think i want to stop my cuddles cause i lok forward to my 7:30pm snuggles, lol

Re: To those who chose to rock/cuddle their babies to sleep

I did this always..Now cate is 18 months old and we can lay her in her crib and tell her good night..It has not in any way affected her sleep..The rocking/cuddling was a bonding time for us..Now that she is bigger, I can't rock her and I miss it!

I can't remember exactly the age I stopped rocking her..
