Re: Any ideas...

hi

try given her a nice luke warm bath to help get the temp down & if it doesnt help, if theres a hospital close by it would be a good idea to get her there hun as they will be able to tell to you what the problem is hun..

best of luck & hope she feels better soon

take care

Re: Any ideas...

It sounds like she has the virus that has also hit our family hard.  That is, only 4 of us survived, the other 3 were rather green for about a week.

It does start with the headache and then the vomiting and then a sore throat etc etc.  Not much you can do except keep her comfortable.

Re: Any ideas...

How's your daughter doing? interesting that the explanation of a 'virus' or a 'bug' continues on as they get older... My daughter had a fair amount of illness in her first year and this was always the explanation.

Re: Any ideas...

Have you got any ibuprofen? It always works better on my headaches than paracetamol anyway. It also works nicely on fevers, though I seem to remember you're supposed to give it 2 hours apart from paracetamol (Kellzacar or Blackwidowkate wrote an article a while back, I'll try looking it up).

Apart from that, badger the doctors. I found out that our dr has a policy of seeing ALL children on the day their parent rings up - except I'd been unable to get past the receptionist for 2 days and she nearly got admitted to hospital. Never again! Try being a hysterical mum if it gets your daughter into the doctors today IMO! She may be having an allergic reaction to something - my DD1 ended up in an ambulance in July as they werent sure what a rash was and wouldnt take chances.

It's probably nothing and she'll probably be fine, but if your "mummy-radar" is flashing warning signals, then act on it - better safe than sorry.

Hope that helps!

Excellent! Hope she recovers really quickly!

I've attached two fever articles I came across - hope they help (the one I was looking for had been deleted).
