need some advice

my son has this rash that just wont go away. iv been to the dr and tried all the different creams he has prescribed and nothing seems to work. the dr even took a sample of it to see what it might have been but it came back negative.

iv even stop using soaps and creams on him in case thats what it is.  i have a feeling it might just be a sweat rash as it goes away when i put something cool on it.

has any other mothers come across this if so please what did you do to help it go.

Re: need some advice

Has your Dr ruled out excema or a food allergy or intolerence?

I'd also try washing bubs clothes in a rinse designed to be low allergen and non-perfume

Re: need some advice

My bubby was suffering from rashes and I found that creams were'nt working. My child health nurse put me onto 'Curash', a powder designed for chafing etc. It worked wonders in our hot and humid climate-good luck.

Re: need some advice

Zinc and castor oil cream is the best thing since sliced bread! Especially for children who react to perfumed products, have eczema, etc. Nappy-free time is a great idea too as it lets the skin breathe and dry out. Good luck!

Re: need some advice

i always found some time outside in the sun with no nappy on helped a lot, it dries it out and vitamin d from the sun is also good, then the caster oil and zinc cream creates a barrier later.

Re: need some advice

Codi and i have very sensitive skin.

we never use soap any more, instead we use QV Wash, and QV moisturizer.

also - if Codi gets a rash or becomes itchy we QV moisturize the area about 3-4 times a day and give him children's claratin (claratyne) each day until the rash heals...
