Might have been a bad dream? Or maybe a little pain (not enuff to wake up)

Re: Baby crying in sleep

My 4 year old Jett does it often. I just give him a kiss and cuddle, tell him its all ok to go back to sleep, and he does. He does not remember anything in the morning. I think it might be dreams or around the time they go from deep back to light sleep again. If i ask Jett whats wrong, he just starts screaming for me even when i'm right there, he does the same to his dad and nan and pa. I've done all the usuals of water, toilet, nitelite, etc. Just seems he wants to know your still there? I've also noticed that as soon as both my husband and me shut down the house at night and go to bed, within 5 minutes both the kids start crying, every  night this happens and every night we just give them a kiss and cuddle and it works! Its not much advice but hope it helps. let me know.

Re: Baby crying in sleep

It is something that all babies do.  Our 6 week old does it, as have all our other 4 when they were babies.  I have found it is usually due to tummy pains, and nothing to really be worried about.  Often, they will settle themselves again.

Depending on the age of the baby, it could also be that they are dreaming about their birth, which they can subconciously remember for several years and is considered to be the most traumatic experience a child can go through.

My son is 9 weeks old and does the same thing. Not actual crying tho, sometimes its wimpering and sometimes he looks like his scared. I think its either nightmares, or wind.
