Re: just a few.

1. Its not unusual for 2yos not to chew (its why we aren't supposed to give them nuts). If you're concerned about her choking, I suggest you feed her mashed foods or keep an eye on her when she's eating.

2. I'm not sure of the specifics, but these ops are routine & comparatively non-invasive (they go in thru the mouth & the nostrils). Interestingly tho, you may have the answer why she's unwilling to chew; if she can't get air thru her nose, she won't be wanting to keep food in her mouth long enuff to chew it. Sleep Apnea is potentially life-threatening & can cause depression as well as chronic tiredness & irritability. So best not to put it off.

3. I'm not familiar with the tablets you mention. If they are long-term in their effects, it would be unlikely to take longer than 3 weeks. The syrup is for a few hours only. many of these work better if taken a few minutes before food. Check with your pharmacist to find out the best times to take them. My eldest brother had a valve problem that caused his stomach acid to rise, from babyhood. I believe he had more than one surgery to correct it (in infancy). He ended up learning to walk early so as to avoid some of the acid burning of his esophagus; must've been dreadfully uncomfortable for him! so if the meds don't work, take her back to the Dr.

4. Is something that needs communication. Talk about the parenting issues w/ your partner. If it isn't something you guys can talk about; well he is more of a part-time lover than a partner. Don't discuss it in front of the kids; wait til they aren't about. You might try to get the 9yo on side & ask him to make sure his little bro isn't too rough on the 2yo... Otherwise; keep the kids apart.

Re: just a few.

I'll answer the GORG, GERD question. Feel free to Minti mail me if yo have any more. Jedd has extremly sever GERD. I think (Kellzacar) DD does as well.

It can take up to 2 full weeks for any meds to take the full affect.

My 1st question is how are you giving the Losec tablets. Jedd is on Losec (Prilosec) and it is suspended. So I cna't answer more until I know exactly HOW the med is being administered. It makes a HUGE difference on how affective the medication is by HOW it is givien and when it is given.

It's  aPPI so it really need sto be given on an empty stomach at least 30 mins. prior to any meals.

Is she acting like she is in pain???? the hard thing to remember aoubt reflx med. is that it will stop the pain from the acid but wil NOT stop the vomitting. Jedd is  aperfect example of this. He GERD is complelty under contro lnad yet we can have at least 1 vomit per day.

The meds are designed to stop the acid from damaging the esophagus and not stop puking. SORRY, I wish there was a magic pill to stop vomiting but there is not.

ALOT of kiddos who vomit ALOT and I mean ALOT like filling whoel large towels after each feed, THOSE kids, they tend to have issues of motility in the stomach. That is where the stomach does not contract prpoerly to empty the food fast enough. IF the food sits there for too long and the hcild is fed, the chid will vomit the food.

I could go on and on and on....go ahead and Minti mail me any other questions. Or jsut post in the Q&A and I will catch it an answer as well. That wya you can get more than my imput!!! LOL

Re: just a few.

i know only advive for 1 and 2 sorry i cant help with more

my youngest son has the same problem i took him to the doctors and they found out he has trouble swallowing  and somthing wrong with his tougne so it might be an idea just to be on the safe side to go and see the doctor

question 2

i had sleep apnea  as a child and mine was pretty severe i also had my tonsils and agdnoyeds out im not to sure on the procedure so when i see my mum next i will ask here and let you know

there also is a machine called a grasbry monitor that you can put on your child and it detects every breathe your child takes and if the thing goes of it means your child has stopped breathing   i have one of these monitors on my daughter at this very moment
