teething and over tired

Help!  My 15mth old is overtired and teething.    We did the same thing that we have been doing for the past 15mths.  Bath, bottle and bed.   Tonight he woke up screaming.  He has had panadol and bonjella, refusing bottle etc..  The only thing that calms him is tv, and I really hate to do this.

How does one cope with an overtired teething 15mth old who wont stop uncontrolably crying?

Re: teething and over tired

it maybe that your child has some thing else wrong and is in pain.

if it is just teething then a teething ring from the freezer will help with the pain.

the chewing will help the teeth come through and the frozen teething ring will help numb the pain.

See if you can get a homeopathic remedy called 'Nelsons Teetha'. It really helped calm my daughter as well as helping with the pain.

Have you tried freezable teething rings? They're really good because bubs will chew on them where it's hurtingand because they are frozen it also numbs the gums. When desparate i've also used icypoles - you know, the long ones you cut the tops off but don't open them and make sure you trim any sharp edges off.

Re: teething and over tired

I am in the same situation and it is so hard to comfort them as they don't understand what we are saying.  When all else feels with my little boy I put him in bed with me whether it is day or night, at first he wimps but as he is so over tired it doesn't seem to be to long before he falls asleep. And because he is with mum he seems to sleep alot better.  during the day and when he is not tired I try to keep his mind off it or let him suck on a facewasher with cold water.  theses are the things that seem to work for me hope it helps
