My 3.5yr is constipated and I've tried all the natural ways to get things moving again, but just wondering if anyone knows anything that you can get from the chemist (over the counter) that is uitable for littlies????
Use a warm bath (the warmer the better, but don't make the child uncomfortable) and get the child to crunch their knees up to their chest. Also the pharmacy should have some kid-size suppositories that give almost instant relief.
Hi Parachoc worked best when my daughter suffered constipation. The Dr put me onto it. Its a lot more gentler than a laxitive. The Dr told me that laxatives irritate to bowel into expelling a motion where as parachoc provides a slippery surface to get things moving
Try Movical-Half, powder sachets. My 2.5 yr old gets constipated every now and then and I have found these to work a treat. It says on the box to mix with water but I mix them with milk as it is easier to disguise. Think they have a slight lime taste. Located with laxatives in chemist.
My daughter is the same age i tried a ton of stuff, coloxyl drops, prune juice everything! I found that if i feed her up on peas, cabbage and cauli flower three nights a week she hasnt had too many problems since i also give her pineapple juice
i give my 3 yr old daughter Parachoc when all else fails. she loves the choc-vanilla flavour. can be purchased from chemist warehouse off the shelf not over the counter. think its about $10 for a big 400ml bottle of it. hope this helps
theres a liquid you can but called coloxyl it helps with blocked bowles and other stuff like that. have you tried prune juice? i found manderines help my little one so does ( believe it or not) rum and warm water. but try the chemist it takes about an hour to work. it doent give him the runs but softens the stools to help them move.
