The Ikea ones are pretty awesome, especially if you are against licensed furniture/bedding. They have adorable bedding, too, and it's pretty cheap. Moreover, I've noticed that you can sometimes get them used on ebay and they have great re-sale value--important in a bed not to be used for long. Ikea also has extendable beds, which have head and footboards that fold down as your kid gets taller to provide extra length on the bed. Genius.
My son's in a regular twin/boxspring combo on the floor. We already had the twin bed and didn't want to spend a couple hundred on a new bed and bedding. Might consider that, as your child would have many more years of growing in it.
The two cheapest places to go are Target and Ikea . . They are GREAT beds . . Pity you didn't live in TAS as I have one for sale with new matress and bedding . . lol
hey hunny!!! I got an Abby Cadabby bed from spotlight!
it is the same size as a single bed but it is lower to the ground and has sides on it, it is really cute, they have alot of characters in their beds, check them out!!
i got mine from a second hand shop and painted and put stickers all over it i let them help then i put one of them bed rails across for a month then took that way and left the cot mattress under so if they fall out they've got a soft landing lol,
I got my toddler bed from the Target toy sale. It's a Cars one and it's called a "Bedroom in a Box". It also came with a cool table and chairs and a toy box and cost less than $150. I am not sure they'd have any left now as the sale was a long time ago, but I know that Spotlight sells them as I was originally going to get one from there.
