Re: ANYBODY WHO WORKS FROM HOME?Any legitimate work from home??
Yes, there are companies who you can work for at home. Although I have always had out of home jobs, I liked the fact I could also do some work at home to supplement my income. I have spent many hours researching and weeding out the genuine jobs from the dodgy schemes, and boy are there heaps!
Go to www.salesforce@home.com.au they offer self-employment from your own home (not sure if they have any vacancies at the moment but you can register your interest for upcoming campaigns). All you need is a Telsta phone and broadband connection, a headset, a quiet area to work and an ABN (this is easy to apply for is you don't have one) to organise you tax. You will be answering call centre calls from your own home, assisting callers with accounts, and may be required to access callers accounts online while on the phone to them. You need to be confident on the phone and keep you cool with the tricky callers. I found it to be an excellent job (I had no previous call centre experience, but found it easy to get into the swing of it), you get paid into your bank and the pay varies depending which campaign you're working on. They are SO supportive and guide you through setting up your computer and training via the net. A+++ They also won the employer of the year last year and contract to many high profile companies. Well worth it and you get to pick your own hours (within their time frames eg; 8am-8pm)!
Another good one is www.lionbridge.com (worldwide company) they are now employing home contactors in Australia, and have jobs going as Internet Assessors for a well known search engine. Check out the employment section on their website and ask about the position. You will be required to apply and sign an agreement. Once they are happy with your details and you fit the type of person they want, they will send you some training and testing/exams via email (approx 10 hrs). If you pass that you can work from home assessing/rating internet search engine results. Pay is direct to your bank but in US dollars, so the amount you recieve may vary depending on AU dollar at the time. You will need an ABN for this as well and need to pay your own tax. You pick your own hours with this as well, but have to work between 10-20 hours only. No more - no less.
I have also sold on ebay, which is great fun, but be sure you are selling worthwile products, you would be surprised at how fast the seller fees add up! If you're only selling very cheap (.99 cent) items all time, it may not be worth all the trouble, or you have to pay all over again to re-list the item if it didnt sell - more $$!
Hope that helps, good luck!

Re: ANYBODY WHO WORKS FROM HOME?Any legitimate work from home??
I am Australian but live in Jakarta and I am not allowed to work here whilst living on an "accompanying spouse" visa. I have spent the last 12 months looking at work from home options and I wish I had even 5 cents for every hour I have invested in the quest!!!
If you are a good writer or a gun with graphics or computers, google or search for Freelance web sites. I do a bit of article and content writing for one called Get A Freelancer.
You have new jobs emailed to you that suit the talents/skills you list on your profile and then you bid on them. Free membership comes with about 12-15 bids per month, but I pay us$12/mth for a Gold membership and that gives me the ability to bid for up to 150 a month. I usually use 20-30.
I charge $10 per 500 words for topics I am familiar with and don't need to do much research on, or $15 for 500 words if say, 2-3 hours research is required. Buyers (the person needing the work done) pay Providers (you and me) through either Pay Pal or the GAF escrow system. Have a look - you never know, but you might just find something there.
There are other sites like it but I have found this to be a particularly good one. Good luck!
alternatively, you could start a blog through any number of sites that offer free service, then use Google adwords and Google programmes to earn money from it when people visit your site and click ont he ads they see there.
If you are serious about it, then be prepared to spend a couple of weeks setting it all up. the money will increase as time goes by, but even if you earn $100 a month to start it's better than nothing!
Oh, and don't fall for any "legit work fromhome" offers if they ask you to buy leads, software or programmes that will "make you more money than you ever dreamed of". There are thousands out there and 99.9% are scam (even though they offer no questions money back guarantees)
Feel free to ask me any questions you might have after reading this - just Minti mail me

Re: ANYBODY WHO WORKS FROM HOME?Any legitimate work from home??
Hi Martha
The website is here: https://www.getafreelancer.com/ and you can read all about it.
Also, this is a link to my profile https://www.getafreelancer.com/users/785246.html
Basically, you create a profile outlining all your skills, and what kind of work you are looking for. They list jobs continually that cover all areas of computer related work (Data processing, copy writing, web site building, graphic design, article writing...)
So you can choose to have new projects emailed to you as they are listed, if they match your skills. Then you bid on them.
The Buyer (person offering the job) will include in their ad a price range. For example they might want 10 500 word articles written on music and will have a bid range of $30-$250. You have to decide what you are willing to do each article for and place a bid accordingly, telling them a little about why you feel you could do the best job.
So if I was bidding on the above example I would bid $100 (because my writing is very good and I won't produce 500 words for less than $10 especially if I have to do a few hours research on the internet to ensure its' accuracy and that the content is interesting.
There seem to be a lot of non-english speaking bidders on the site who are happy to do a 500 word article for just $1, so you have to validate the price you intend to charge to the buyer. Seriously, to write a 500 word article on a topic you are not familiar with can require several hours of research, then you have to reword chunks of information you want to use to ensure it's original, then draft and edit your article. There is a programme called Copy Scape and most buyers say "all articles MUST pass copy Scape". A buyer can run chunks of text through CS to check for plagiarism and if you plagiarise, your work will be rejected by the buyer.
One word of warning though - you have to make quite a few bids before you actually win a job. I usually bid higher than most and then if I win one out of say 10 bids, it makes it worth my while to do the work - no one in their right mind wants to work for 30 cents an hour!!
That's really all there is to it. Go and have a look and if you have any questions, email me back.
All the best
Sharon
