Pregnant?

My cycle is accurate to the day. This time I was a day late and then some bleeding started so I thought nothing of it...but it stopped really quickly and (sorry if this is gross) normally I get very very heavy very painful bleeding. This time just a few 'bits' of blood and some sort of mucus stuff (again sorry, gross) which stopped after 2 days. I thought, hmm wierd, took a pregnancy test and there was a very very faint positive line. Now I know it says on the packet that could be a 'shadow' line but was the same with my last pregnancy-nothing nothing nothing (when I was actually pregnant by then) and then the faintest of lines.

Could I be pregnant and was the bleeding in fact a bit of spotting? Partner and I were inimate at 'that' time, if I recall correctly.

I'm going to retest and go to the dr if there is a postive result but would still appreciate other people's experiences with this....Thanx

Re: Pregnant?

I reckon you have a good chance of being pregnant, but you need to go to your doctor for a blood test and/or ultrasound and tell him/her of the spotting.  The only hormone that shows up on these test is the hormone that shows that you are pregnant, so if there was a faint line you are or were pregnant.  Either way you need a doctors examination to see what is going on.  Good luck.  I hope all goes well.

Re: Pregnant?

Although i never had any "spotting" with my second pregnancy the first couple of times i did a home pregnancy test the positive line was very faint to the point you almost couldn't see it.

I ended up going to the dr's to confirm it

Re: Pregnant?

Be as graphic as you can when asking your questions.  The more details we have, the easier it is for us to provide you with a better answer.  After all, we are all women (except for the minti men! lol) and we all know that our bodies behave in a gross way from time to time.

I reckon you might be pregnant.  The bleeding and faint positive are indications of a very early pregnancy, maybe only a couple of weeks to a month along.  Redo the test in a week or so, making sure it is first thing in the morning as that is when your hormone levels will be easier for the test to detect (they are stronger).

Lucky you managing intimacy with your husband, here, we have forgotten what a bed looks like! lol.

Re: Pregnant?

those little ones can be very sneaky indeed. After my first son had turned one we decided to try for number 2 unlike with the first one it seemed to take a bit longer to fall pregnant. I thought it might have been that I had not lost enough weight after my first one. So I decided to go and loose some weight every thing was as per normal I lost 6 kg's and some weigh in i might put on 500g than loose it sometimes 1kg. I had 4 urine tests 3 blood samples .The 4th blood sample came back saying that I was finally pregnant . Doc said lets do an Ultra sound and see how far you are probably 4 weeks . Yeah right try 16 weeks into my pregnancy . i was dumb founded as to where he had been hiding all this time. And even now he is still sneaky .But love him to bits.So you never know that thin pink line might be a shadow or a baby in disguise
