Re: Teething

Teething rings in the fridge have worked for my kids, also BONJELA (spelling maybe wrong) is a gel you can get for babies who are teething and that helps to numb gum area.

good luck

Re: Teething

For my DS along with giving panadol i would put some ice cubes and water in a bottle then he could suck and chew at the teat which seemed to help.

Re: Teething

I found that Vegemite worked just as well as Bonjela.  You can buy fluid filled teething rings which go in the freezer to freeze before use.

Re: Teething

You arent actually supposed to put the fluid teething rings in the freezer, just the fridge. I find a facewasher put in the freezer for about 10-15 minutes works best.

Cheers.

Re: Teething

Hi there

As everyone else has said - a cold damp facewasher works wonders. I used alot ot teething rings and you can get teething books and toys too. If your child is old enough, you could give him/her some fruit or veg chunks to chew on. Or the plain teething rusks that you can get from supermarkets are great too. They are super hard, so they arent that easy to get thru, but once they have a few teeth, you will have to watch them with it.

As for pain relief, i always gave my son panadol and he started teething at about 4 months old. You just have to make sure you give them the minimum amount and never go over the recommended dosage for the day. If you prefer a natural teething relief, you can get brauer teething relief. I dont think it ever really worked for my son, but i know some people who swear by it. I also used bonjela for his gums. He loved the taste. But again, just minimal amounts.

The main thing your bub will need is lots of kisses and cuddles. Lots and lots of attention from Mummy should help ease the pain a little bit!!

Good luck, hope that your baby cuts those teeth quickly for you!!

Re: Teething

My daughter is 15 months old and only has 2 bottom teeth. We took her to the pediatrician yesterday for her check-up and he told me that she has 4 teeth coming on the top. She has been having a horrible time with teething. The best thing that I have found is a wet or cold wash cloth. I tried all the teething toys and teething rings, but my daughter would just throw them.

Try those theathing cookies from gerber... or just plain toast... My daughter loves to chew on Toast!! (adn its really cheap! LOL)  Cold washcloths are also good, or even an extra tooth brush... both my kids liek those!  Good luck! hope this helps!

Re: Teething

im in the same boat at the mo so im in need of advice. buit heres some tips iv picked up.  my son loves to chew on cold faceclothes with ice bits in them. i also let him chew on his spoons, (it also teaches him to self feed). with mine i rub his gums till he bites. panadol and/or nurafin  cold drinks like water. dont worry to much if he wont eat much just keep his fluids up  as he will soon want to eat.  hope this helps a little

Re: Teething

hi, i was told from a chemist that bonjela is not recommended for babies under 12 months. i used something called sedagel lotion. it really works. i used it on my widom teeth. lol

also u can buy those teething rings u put in the fridge, the cold numbs their gums. An ie block or frozen fruit pieces work too, plus they are healthy. Depending on age of course.

Good luck. i hope i have helped.
