Re: Getting Baby Weight Off
Has anyone explained to you that it can be hard to see results in the first few months of any weight loss program? The reason it may seem that you aren't losing weight, and could be putting more weight on is because of the fact that muscle is heavier than fat.
If you are eating a healthy diet and attending a gym to get fit and toned, then it is more than likely you are shedding the fat and putting on muscle. When we work out, our bodies convert fat to muscle, and muscle is heavier than fat.
When undergoing any weight loss program, it is a good idea to keep a chart of your progress. On this, you should record your weight, your body mass index and fat to muscle ratios. You may need to consult a doctor to find out how to measure those things.
Many people believe that it is the weight only that is a measure of their weight loss sucess. That is incorrect. Body Mass Index (BMI) and fat-muscle ratios are what should be used as a measure of your success.
