i think your baby is fine im 19 and one of my eyes is bigger then the other its not noticable and my eyesights perfect were all different though so if your really worried about it go for a checkup it cant hurt just to get a little piece of mind

Re: baby eyes ...

My sisters 10 week old baby boy has the same. She had taken him to the doctors and they told here it was nothing to worry about. Then a few weeks later he got conjuctivitis. Now because of this he has had to see an eye specialist. It is most important that you see an eye doctor for your baby as my sister was told there is a chance of the problem affecting his eye sight as he grows. I dont want to alarm you but its important to you and your baby.

Also if your baby or a friends baby ever gets conjuctivitis, ask for the eye drops not the ointment. Eye drops are easier to put into your babies eyes. They will try to get you to take the ointment.

Nothing in nature is truly symetrical, this goes for our eyes too.  you will notice that your own body is not equal either.  One arm, leg etc will be slightly bigger than the other, though the differences are barely noticeable.

As long as your baby's eyes are equally reactive to light, move together when the look around, she is able to see properly and there is no signs of infection (swelling, redness, discharge) then there should be nothing to worry about.  maybe you could bring it up with your child health nurse the next time you see them, but I wou'ldn't be making a special appointment for it as it seems like nothing is wrong.

Re: baby eyes ...

As long as baby seems to be happy, interacting and there is no dishcarge/redness/soreness then I would say it was fine. No one is the same on both sides of the body, I have one ear bigger then the other and my daughter is a 1/2 shoe size bigger in one foot. If this still continues to trouble you then trust your instincts and seek medical help.

Re: baby eyes ...

Hi, I would suggest that you take her to a doctor or cafhs in your area as they would be the better person to tell you if it is anything to worry about and if you don't like the results seek another opinon till you are satisfied with what you are hearing as a mothers instincts is usually right when it comes to knowing if there is something wrong with their child.

Hope this helps

Re: baby eyes ...

Definately go see a doctor just to rule out any concerns and ask the doctor for any necessary tests. It does sound a little unsual so probably best to make an appointment with the doctor as soon as possible. Most people have things like their right arm might be bigger than their left ect but the eyes are something I would not be hesitating about it is probably nothing but you are obviously concerned so go see your doctor you will feel alot better.
