Re: Coffee While Pregnant???

The rule with anything in pregnancy is moderation.  Coffee is the same.  I believe I read somewhere that 1-2 cups a day is actually good for you, especially if it is the new blend with unroasted coffee beans (more antioxidants).  I also read that coffee should be milky to help the body process it better.

Re: Coffee While Pregnant???

they always say, eat this and not that, but if you go according what the books say you might as well go on a diet, babies don't need diets, they need real food, i drank coffee just as much as i wanted, there is nothing wrong with my baby, the doctor said that my baby is healthier then most he has met, so it just shows you that you need to eat or drink according to how you feel, if you feel like a coffee, then have one, it really does no harm : )

Re: Coffee While Pregnant???

I'm utterly addicted to coke and most articles i've come across regarding caffeine (which is of course, the reason we drink our coke and coffee :P) have said recommended limiting your consumption to one cup of coffee (or can of coke) per day.

I can't remember the sites i found, but they mentioned that caffeine has been linked to higher chances of miscarriage and also lower birthweight babies. I believe it's in a "could-be-risky" kind of category. Everything nowadays simply hasn't been tested enough to determine the full effects.

Caffeine is one substance (drug! lol) that DOES cross the placenta and so I figure that limiting it as much as poss is best. I'd view it as a treat and make sure that when you do have it, you have a nice one from a fancy cafe and focus on really enjoying it ;P Just coz you can't have much doesn't mean it can't be really good!! :P

hehe, hope that helps!

Re: Coffee While Pregnant???

I drank coffee when i was pregnant and didn't have any problems. Just don't go overboard, limit yourself to say one a fortnight or something like that, make it something special, a treat, not just a habit!

All the best

I think it is ok. In my experience i drank one cup of coffee each day throughout both my pregnancies and i had no trouble and the kids were healthy and fine when they were born.
