Are there any Mintiers who are Australian Lawyers (Family Law)?

I have found my self in a very scary and abusive domestic situation that I have no control over and urgently need to speak with someone who specialises in Family bLaw, domestic violence and property division.

I am a regular Mintier but want to keep this completely confidential.

Thanks for reading

Hey, I'm not a lawyer of any kind, but i have just been through a similar situation myself. There are many services that can help you. Legal Aide,  and other community legal centres and domestic violence support centres. If you ring directory assistance they will be able to help put you in touch with the right services. Good luck and stay strong!

Hi there. We dont do Family Law at the firm where I work but we recommend people who call us to Hartley Healy. They are in Brisbane. I am sorry I dont have any experience with them myself but I hope this can help you and good luck.

Hey there while I may not have too much experience in Family Law I do have plenty of experience in psychology and counselling if you ever need someone to just talk to.

I would suggest ringing your local lawyers (perferably Legal Aid) because you are entitled to one piece of free information. They can lead you in the right direction.

If you are in a Domestic Violence situation I would suggest applying for an emergency protection order from your local court or police station.

So long as you can prove that Domestic Violence exists in any of the following: (domestic violence can be defined as threats both physical and verbal threat to commit physical, intimidation, constant put downs, harrassment, social isolation, threats to damage property, damage to property, indecent behaviour such as unwanted sexual advances, stalking, persistant phone calls, financial abuse or psychological/emotional abuse.

I'm a survivor of domestic violence and my heart goes out to you. Hope this helps a little.
