I was in the same boat. My second was born a month before my first turned 2. I got a Phil n Teds pram and I cant recommend it more! It is fantastic! the main thing for me is it can be a single OR double. So when I only have one I am not pushing around a double, and it is a much better seat for the toddler so they arent balancing with no back support as my 2yo will on occassion still fall asleep in the pram. I know most people say well that doesnt matter as I have a single one but if your anything like me you wont be remembering to change prams in the boot of the car while getting 2 kida organised, not to mention yourself! LOL!

And it is 3 wheels as well which you said you would prefer.

HI, I've got a 3 wheel love and care jogger.  I had my second when my first was 2.  It's great lies all the way back, doesn't have a bassinette thing but does come with a sleeping bag that zips all the way up to keep baby snug.  Has a toddler seat that clips to the front and the toddler seat has a weigh limit of 20kg, most only go to 15kg. 

Once he grew out of the seat I got a skateboard attachment.  I love it can push with one hand great. Good luck

Now I too have found my self in this situation, however my son will only be turning 1 when this baby is due.
Im looking for a 3 wheel pram preferably but have a personal dislike to Valco currently because I have a valco pram in the $500 range to find out they dont have a toddler seat attachment.

Personally I am looking for a 3 wheel pram with a toddler seat instead of a side by side twin pram or a tandum.

i like the valco you could put a skateboard thing instead of the seat. god my 1 yr old would love to be out of her pram now i suppose what you have to consider is how long you will use the pram with both before your older one decides they don't want to be in it.

i wish the stupid baby shop told me how crap the enigma was cos i bought one and only used it for 2 months, before buying a beema q.

How independant is your 2 yr old???? I have 3 cherubs under 4 and we have a side by side twin stroller (both seats go up and down independantly) and I have a step on thing at the back for the four year old...My hubby made it - a piece of wood with swivel wheels and some metal hooks that clip over the pram bar....Now I can get anywhere (except for shops with tight isles...)

I did have a double pram that was one in front of the other but it was to hard to push and manouver....

Hope this is of some help and you are able to find something that suits you....But remember when you put the heavier child right at the front of the pram / stroller it becomes alot harder to push.....

I have a 4 wheeled stryder, I tell you it's like a 4WD with power steering but for a baby! haha It can be used as a bassinet, pram for baby facing you or you can turn it the other way and put the bottom of it down for a toddler It's great! 1 Pram that can be used from the day your baby is born to the day they no longer need a stroller

Hi!  I had one of the three wheeler jogger type prams and I bought the  toddler seat that attaches to the front.  I found it very unwieldy - it was very heavy, hard to steer and at one point tipped over coming down a ramp.  My son was within the weight guidelines, but as all the weight sits at the front it doesn't really work very well.  Once my baby was old enough to sit up I swapped them and that worked a bit better. 

A friend of mine had a similar one to the one below, where they sit in front of each other - though it was a bit long - but that seemed to work well. It was expensive though and from memory she only found one store (in Canberra?) that stocked it.

What a lot of my friends seem to be doing is the Bill & Ted, where the baby actually goes under the toddler (or the other way around) - looks kind of uncomfortable to me but so many people I know swear by it, and being a three wheeler jogger it is handy on the dodgy roads around here.  Hope that helps!

i think the pram my girls have is only available in South Africa. they have a twin pram, but its where the kids can sit 1 in front of the other or facing each other, depending. it was a gift from grandma to her 1st grandchildren. they can either lay in the pram or we can let down the 1 side and the can sit. they'd be able to use the pram for quite some time still, because there is enough space if the 1 at the back must sit with legs down. i think it was the best invention since sliced bread, we can walk in a shop without taking up too much space, as they dont sit next to each other, but take up just as little space as a single pram
