Hey, pregnancy tests can be inaccurate sometimes, the best way to find out is to see your doctor and get a blood test. As for breast feeding, i breast fed my baby for six months and then weened her onto bottles. It is hard getting started, but the health benefits for the baby are worth it, and it doesn't take very long to get the hang of it.

The hormone which the pregnancy test tests for (hCG) is not a breastfeeding hormone, and it is made by the embryo, not by the mother. So it would have the same failure rate as for non breastfeeding women.

Do you don't need to worry about having different levels of progesterone/ oestrogen etc than a non breastfeeding woman - like i said, hCG comes from the baby, not the mother, so it's not invloved in breasfeeding.

Most urine pregnancy tests are accurate by the time your period would be due but pregnancy tests have been known not to pick up some pregnancies in women normally, yet alone show while breast feeding. So the answer to your question is there is still a chance it may not show up as it has been known to fail in some blood tests too!
