Re: donations

If it's a raffle for a xmas hamper then just get something non-perishable. You dont have to spend a lot. They usually just expect you to dontate one item, but some people like to give more. ONe of our mum's owns a small local supermarket and they usually give a bit.

the local rural store dontated a fuel vouvher one year.

I usually just give a big bag of chips or a nice drink or whatever is on special. It doesnt have to be flash. Although you can if you want. Everyone giving a small item goes a long way. You can also help by buying and selling the raffle tickets.

Re: donations

If you are being asked to give donations for the prize for the raffle, then usually they ask parents if they can give items for the prize. Often parents can get things from their work to donate. For example, you might work a a plant nursery and can get your work to donate two small plants. Sometimes parents can source donations from their work, rather than from their own pocket.

If you don't have a work that can provide something, you might wish to make or purchase something for the prize, or perhaps a 'babysitting voucher' (you make a voucher which offers for you to look after the winner's kids for a few hours).

In the past I have also donated unused things which we have purchased or been given which we never used.

Good luck and don't stress. If you're still unsure, call the Parents' committe (P&F or P&C or Mother's Group or Fundraising committee or whatever they call it at your school) or your son's teacher/ school office and ask for more information.

Re: donations

The question is a little ambiguous but here goes.

If it is just about selling raffle tickets friends & family are great or if all else fails & the ticket book is small enough or your budget allows buy them all yourself.

If its for how to make money for the school things that work really well are school cook books where parents provide family favorite recipes & you put it together as a book & sell.

Things like set aside on day a week where a special lunch can be made baked potatos & soups are good for these ussually around $3.50 is good for fund raising.

Many companies ie bulb, socks etc. offer great fund raising options for schools.

Baking stalls where each student provides a cake/slice & they are sold at the school just make sure that all the items are labelled with what ingredience have been used...

There are so many things that can be done for fund raising

Re: donations

Schools are always trying to get parents more involved in the running of their kids schools, even in kinder. If you don't have any real objections to asking for or giving donations yourself then go for it, every little bit helps!!

Re: donations

I'm confused. Are you asking for donations to be able to afford to do the raffles or are you being asked to sell raffle tickets in order to raise money for the pre school?

Re: donations

we are being asked to go to stores, and get items donated for the raffel, also we were given tickets to sell. will a store really just hand over merchandise without tax forms or something?

Re: donations

yes!  amazingly they do.  Usually they can verify with a simple phone call that the raffle is for real by calling the school or pre-school.  If you are not sure stila bout who to approach as the manager/principle for places to try who have donated in the past - these are usually consistent in their gifts as it is free advertising for them!

Re: donations

Do you  work for a company that might offer support or have a friend who works for such a company.  Often financial institutions, sports clubs and local stores will appreciate the opportunity to be involved.

If you are not directly linked to anyone just send the Manager a letter and see where that leads you.

All the best
