Re: Blocked noses

Ive had the same problem and my little one is almost 11 months and my doctor said to use OTRIVIN  junior nasal drops. It is a decongestant and you dont need a prescription. Its safe to use on bubs 6 months and over.  Just go to the chemist and ask for it!! Also if bub  or any of my other kids have a cold I love Euky Bear rub. Good luck xoxo

Re: Blocked noses

Try squirting some breast milk in her nose... it sounds really gross, but trust me it works!

Re: Blocked noses

Hi Aula, I was told to put a pillow in their cot to elevate them so that their head is higher, also vicks on their feet, only a smidgen though. If bub wont sleep, you might have to sit up with her on your chest so that she is vertical. Hope that helps.

Re: Blocked noses

I think the vicks on their feet only works with coughs and such... not really stuffy noises!?

Re: Blocked noses

You could try a vaoupriser in the room, this works well for my kids.  Or try putting some vicks on their singlet not on the skin, unless it's the special baby one.  This can also help.  Nurofen can also have a drying up effect for runny noses. the baby/infant drops of course.

Good luck, and I hope you both get some sleep soon.

Re: Blocked noses

I have found saline drops for the nose worked really well.  Also when my little girl had a blocked nose i would fill the basin up with boiling water and then put a towel over our heads and inhale the steam - it would break up the mucus really well.  A touch of eucalyptus oil in the water was goo too.  The reason i would go under with her is because i had to hold her arms so she didn't put her hands in the boiling water adn burn herself.
