Re: baby screaming

Hi there jab.  The article I wrote is online now - have a read, it's about night terrors (not as serious as that sounds though).  It is just a suggestion based on my son having them since he was 5-6 months old and displaying similar behaviour as your bub.  Sharon

Re: baby screaming

Babies often cry in their sleep for 2 reasons:

  1. They are remembering their birth.  Yes, they do remember it and you have to remember it was a very stressful event for them too.  This can last for sometime and then just vanish never to be repeated again.
  2. Tummy pains.  Even in deep sleep, a baby will feel the tummy pains.  Try and burp bubs before laying them down to sleep, even if they have already fallen asleep you will get some wind out of them.

I have had to start taking my 4 month old to bed with me again because she cries in her sleep, and wakes herself up.  Hers is tummy pains and the dreaming, but with me beside her all night, she'll sleep just fine (funny how I don't!!!).  Having 4 other kids to take care of, having bubs in bed is the lesser of all evils! lol.

Re: baby screaming

try reading up on something called night terrors. They're different than night mares, but no more serious. Just different things to do to help.

Wow!  You and I are so often on the same wavelength!  I wrote this lady an article on night terrors yesterday .... too spooky!  My son suffered them and I think is slowly growing out of them, but he had one a few nights ago and I had to follow him and speak gently until I successfully guided him back to bed.  LOL - that took 3 attempts, as each time I got him in and shut the door he would reappear 5 mins later.

Re: baby screaming

Hi there.  I wrote you quite a detailed piece of advice on one of the possible causes of this.  I have no idea what was censored in it but it won't appear until minti admin have checked it apparently.  Keep your eye out for it tomorrow.  sharon

Re: baby screaming

It's really normal, my baby was doing the same thing, and when i go to her and just put my hand on her head she just be fine, maybe she needs to make sure that am here for her, i think that babies also have nightmares while sleeping also. she was doing that since she was born? or it's new to her?

no worries at all darling  ...
