Low Amniotic Fluid

Hello

Went for 34 week checkup today and had slightly raised BP level.  Went to day clinic for monitoring and BP fine for rest of day.  When Doctor came in to assess me and release me she said that because my first child had low amniotic fluid and they didnt pick it up till 5 days before my due date, and that they need to check with an ultrasound to keep an eye on this baby in case it happens again so they can catch it again.  I had an ultrasound this afternoon and I have a low amniotic fluid again this time.  They would like to see me again for US and review.  What my question is if in a week the level is still low, does anyone know what that would mean for the rest of my pregnancy?  any body with similar problem??

Re: Low Amniotic Fluid

I recommend that you call your Doctor/Midwife and ask them what sort of strategy they would put in place... That way you will have accurate information that pertains specifically to you.

Re: Low Amniotic Fluid

I don't believe your amniotic fluid is likely to increase.  However if it get's to a point they believe is unsafe for your baby they will probably induce you.

Keep in mind that at 34wks gestation your baby has an extremely good chance of survival.
