ok so minti is slow, i change my answer, esp when im creating a comment and report section is quite slow.

Yes it is slow.  Slower than other sites.  It is not too annoying though, so I guess it is a little slow.  I find that doing most things on the site are slower than other sites. I am accessing it from Australia

I have been running MS windows ever since it has been the number 1 choice for millions....over the past 12 months many of the internet sites I visit have been slower, for want of a reason I can not shed much light.

What I do know is that I binned MS and all their expense in upgrade after upgrade as well as the many programs that accompany it. Just as a POI the much reveled MS Vista that the world waited a millenium for will be superceeded at the beginning of 2010 (a little over 12 months) for Windows 7 but it is still not expected to be much better and just as resource hungry as well as give MS the chance to take your hard earned dollars.

I now run a linux based system called Xubuntu which is not all that different from MS at the end of the day but it (and programs associated with it) are FREE and things run much faster.

As an added bonus, antivirus software is not needed as linux is not subjected to them and the file system does not become fragmented like MS.

I am on the fastest bigpond BB speed and have a custom computer that I built myself out of reliable parts and live in Australia.

Graphics or lack of with some MS releases will slow some computers down but the things I mention above are more likely to be contributing factors in sluggish access/page loading.

Having said all that, actual internet speed can and does vary quite a lot and the time of day that it is accessed can play a roll. Also we must take into account that worldwide there are millions of people that have just finished school that could be adding to the internets workload. Individual internet sites can also slow as popularity increases such as has done with Minti.

Just my thought and I hope it is of some use to solving some questions.

We have major computer issues, so I doubt minti is slow for us (out of 3 computers, only the newest will accept the internet without it being super slow).

Just thought I would add to your question that members should tell you which web browser they are using, as it does make a difference, especially older versions of firefox or internet explorer.

i found that minti was really slow when i was at home (australia) but now that im in  new zealand it seems to be working alot faster... but not too sure what the go. its not much help i know but just thort id let u know, i was wondering the same thing a while back.

3. How slow is it? A "little slow", "slow in general", or "REALLY SLOW"? - it is a little slower than normal, but nothing to affect time on here for me.
4. Is it just some pages or areas on Minti that are slow or the whole site? - some pages do take longer to load, but I assume it is due to the picture content.

I find it quite slow - somethings more than others, eg watchlist (understandably) and Minti mail (which is very slow).  They're not so slow I give up - just enough to make me (VERY) frustrated - I'm in OZ...

My computer is that slow I can't tell the difference, but minti is still faster for me than Myspace is, except it still takes a while for minti mail to load up but even that is faster than my email, so I'm not going to complain, and that's part of why I've been here again more lately.

It is sometimes slow on the home page when I sign in and occasionally on some of the other areas I click into but mainly the home page which is sometimes frustrating so I come back to it later
