New washing machine problems

I have recently bought a simpson water saver 9.5kg toploader. Unfortunately I am having trouble with flakey white residue on my clothes once they have been washed. I am using cold power for front loaders as recommended and have reduce the liquid to only half a cap full. Has anyone else had this problem with the new water savers and any ideas to stop it happening?

Re: New washing machine problems

This can sometimes happen if you are putting too many clothes in the machine.

There are also lint balls that you can buy to put in the machine with your clothes and they are meant to collect fluff.  If the residue if fluff like.  My mother in law loves them.  I haven't tried them though.

Re: New washing machine problems

i had the same problem. i have a brand new front loader and i buy a few washing powder brands (i stock up on specials)

i thought it was my washing machine . it only left residue on darks not on lights. i was using fab . anyway as i have about 3 brands i opened the duo and everything was fine.

ive been meaning to email or ring fab  ive just checked the box its colgate palmolive pty ltd and its got on the box NEW EASY RINSE FORMULA!

the duo is fine its a 2in 1 softener  this one is by united laboratories.

im still able to use fab on lights without any problems

Re: New washing machine problems

Do you use a softner??  I had a similar problem, it was caused by the rinse cycle.  Mine has a eco rinse cycle which if when using softner has a similar problem.  I had to change setting to deep rinse, when using softner...

Maybe try changing the rinse cycle otherwise try changing detergents or calling the makers of washing machine and the detergent companies.

I suggest calling the washing machine sales/enquires where you bought it. or perhaps calling the detergent company, they all seem to have enquiries/problems lines these days.
