hi there also get your blood pressure checked at the moment i am in the same boat as you are las week i talked to my doctor who told the dizzynes th elight head & all i want to do is sleep it all low blood so drink lots water and always see youe gp good luck madmumma
I had gestational diabetes in my first pregnancy and had all the symptoms you have described, my obstetrician told me that there is only a slight possibilty of getting it in the next pregnancy as long as I watch my diet and exercise. Also the symptoms you described are also normal symptoms of being pregnant, maybe ask your doctor to do a blood and urine test rather than waiting until you have the drink at 28 weeks. I don't know how much water you drink, maybe try increasing the amount you maybe dehydrated without knowing it. The body does some pretty strange things when pregnant. Also are you getting enough sleep? I know when I don't get enough I get light headed.
First of all am sorry for you, and i hope u'll be better :), i think you need to go and see your doctor and tell him what's going on with you, you have to take care of your self take alot of rest and eat healthy food.
I definitely agree with the others that said you should check with your doctor if your concerned.
All of the symptoms you described, though, are quite often associated with early pregnancy. I basically slept through the first 3 months of mine. However I've been reading a lot of info lately that suggests a lot of symptoms like this in early pregnancy (and even later in pregnancy) can be related to low progesterone. So you may want to have your progesterone levels checked too... especially if you've been having a lot of morning sickness. I've heard a lot of stories about women who started taking natural progesterone (and it has to be natural... not synthetic and not wild yam) who had their symptoms virtually disappear.
So it's definitely something you might want to look into!
Oh and the dizziness is probably related to low blood pressure... that's actually quite common in early pregnancy and should get better once you're well into the 2nd trimester (but it can last throughout the pregnancy too... it did for me). Just try to rest as much as possible, especially when you're feeling dizzy. The reason chocolate probably helps is because of the caffiene in it... caffiene raises blood pressure. It's also very grounding. Try some green tea instead... it has caffiene too, but a lot less than chocolate and it's also a different kind of caffiene so it doesn't have the same side effects.
You will be surely tired with 12 weeks of pregnancy. Take adequate rest. It is better to avoid chocholates. Have food as small meals for many times. Eat fresh greens and also protein rich foods.
i went thru a really tired phase in my last pregnancy from about 10 week to about 18 weeks, i could have slept all day if i didnt have older kids to look after! but like everyone has said if ur ever worried talk to a doctor or midwife just to be safe
Iwas diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes at 28 weeks :( to be quite honest,I wouldnt have known that I had it!!! Didn't feel any different really. I had to be careful with what I ate but it didnt matter as I have always been a health nut. Diabetes also runs through my family so now that I have had GD i'm high risk in 20 odd years to develop non pregnancy diabetes. As long as you eat healthy regular snacks you should be ok, oh and also not large amounts of food!
If you really are concerned, bring it up with your Doctor but I think they'll just put it down to early pregnancy symptoms. I was always tired in my first 14 weeks but picked after that. I then started getting tired again around week 30 and i became irritable and had to cut work down.
I always go by the same rule - if you are worried about it then definitely go and see the Dr. My Dr always told me to ask anything, the worst that can happen is that all is ok, but if you do nothing you may get worse.
Tiredness is common in the first and last three months of pregnancy. Try and get as much rest as possible. You have another child which can make it hard, try and rest when they are if they're still napping. During my second preganacy I suffered from low insulin levels, and suffered from light headness. I would have a teaspoon of honey, and that usually got me thru.
I would speak to the doctors about it if you are concerned, you could have low iron also. Try and eat regulary small meals and get lots of fluids into you rest when you can. The dishes can wait Good luck, and I hope that your feeling better soon.
I also had a similar signs early on during my pregnancy along with headaches and migraines, I was told I suffer from Low Blood pressure in pregnancy. I would go and get it checked out immediately. I wouldnt wait til u get the hospital appointment I would just go and see my gp then inform the dr's at the hospital what he says.
If you're worried about it speak to your doctor, I had GD last pregnancy too, sounds like low blood sugar, your doctor might order an early GTT.
I had my first this pregnancy at 16 weeks, I'll have my next at 26 weeks. But I do urge you to talk to your doctor. If you're having trouble thinking write things down as they happen :D
