Maternity Wear Must Haves

Hello! I am trying to write a maternity wear advice article for our blog and have come up with something I was quite pleased with... I am just worried that it is a bit skewed towards what I liked to wear when pregnant and would love to hear from some Minti gals on what you found most comfortable, most useful and a "must have" - just to make sure I am providing something rounded! Any suggestions would be so much appreciated! Cath

Re: Maternity Wear Must Haves

Thank you so much ladies - I hadn't even thought of belly bands, even though i loved them both through pregnancy and for breastfeeding to cover up my tum under a breastfeeding tank... nor shoes, nor breastfeeding pads - thank you all so much!

Great words of advice, and thanks for the reminder on the cotton and light and airy fabrics - I had it in my notes, but never included in the draft I have so far... really appreciate your time!

roll top trackpants (let it all hang out or wear over belly for support).

bonds bumps maternity/breastfeeding singlet with built in bra (great for winter layering and summer wear. i'm wearing one now for breastfeeding- covers the unsightly belly rolls during feeding)

stretch jersy dresses (nothing uncomfortable constricting the belly)

Re: Maternity Wear Must Haves

I loved my belly bands and belly belts the best. I also brought heaps of maternity clothes for next to nothing on ebay and from my local st vinnies. I think I spent about $80 on 5 pairs of 3/4 pants, 3 jeans and 10 tops. This was for my last bub as I didnt have a thing!! They were all pretty new and pretty fashionable!!. I also loved my kiddapotumus baby wraps too!!! That was a must have for bubs as I hated using blankets to wrap them!!!!! I loved how they did up and bub couldnt escape thyre the best invention ever!!!!!! Plus I brought self sterilising bottles which was easier too.

good luck with it! xoxoxo

Um... Have you mentioned a good bra and nursing pads! even if you arent breast feeding, you need to pads because you will leak! LOL   also, something... at least one thing... that is pretty and makes you feel nice... something that makes you feel beautiful and prego, not just fat and swollen everywhere!! LOL ...  um, and shoes, make sure you have something about comfy shoes that arent tight!  (feet swell!LOL)   but something I found out that I COULDNT LIVE WITH OUT during my pregnancy was  something called E-OINTMENT.  it really helps with teh itchy and streach marks... you can get it in a tube or in a little bottle like Vicks or something... most drug stores have them and anywhere else that sells that kind of stuff (walmart... ect!!)  (depending where you live!)

Good luck!

Re: Maternity Wear Must Haves

i carried through summer so i found flowy tops were the best.  cotton, lace, anything light and breathable.  baby doll tops and tunics were  the best as they covered the tummy but still looked sexy and girly.

long skirts and dresses where a hit as well.

sorry thats all i can think of
