Re: prgnant

keep a couple of plain biscuits and a glass of water beside your bed and eat it before you get up out of bed.lots of people told me to do that and it worked great for me.

Re: prgnant

I used anti sea sickness wrist bands combined with Blackmores morning sickness tablets (both available at chemists) which did seem to help.  The tablets didn't help immediately but I did find after a few days of taking them consistently my nausea decreased.  As others have said, hopefully now that you're at the 12 week mark you'll start to see some improvement in your symptoms soon.

Re: prgnant

I'm lucky this time round with no morning sickness  but with my 1st baby I was really poorly, the longest I went without throwing up in the 1st 12 weeks was 4 hours! Even ended up in hospital for a little bit.

But I found if I ate every 2-3 hours it really helped (I know you probably dont feel like it) and relaxation/hypnosis CDs (sounds odd but really helped).

With you being 12 weeks your morning sickness should at least get a little better or hopefully stop completely. Good luck.

xx

Re: prgnant

Have some cracker biscuits or similiar near your bed and eat them before getting up in the morning, I found this very helpful as I felt very light headed when getting up first thing in the morning.... Hope it works for you

Re: prgnant

Have you spoken to your doctor about it?  they might be able to give you some anti nausea medication to help you to feel better.

With my first, I was terrible and in and out of hospital for the first 5 months.  with my other 4, I was better able to manage.  I ate ice, drank through a straw, ate plain salted chips and even went for only just ripe bananas.  They all helped to some degree.

while food is important, it is your fluid levels that really need to be kept up with.  If all you can manage to eat is just a few chips or a piece of toast, then that's ok.  Your baby won't be suffering for it as they get their nutrients from you, however, once you are feeling better it is advisable that you start taking a good quality vitamin tablet to help replenish your own supplies.

Drink as much water, milk, juice, whatever as you can.  Never leave your glass empty for long.  Dehydration due to vomiting is very serious, and can lead to long term problems for you.  You also run the risk of losing the baby if your hydration levels are too low.

To keep an eye on your hydration levels, you can pinch the skin on your upper arm.  If it bounces back to original shape immediately, then you are not dehydrated.  if it stays in the pinched position or takes a while to go back to normal, you are dehydrated.  If this continues, you will require hospitalisation for a few days.  they will put you on  a drip to get you rehydrated.

Realsitically, you have to figure out by trial and error what is going to help you with your morning sicknes, so keep a diary of it all so that you know what does and what doesn't work.

Re: prgnant

Congratulations of being pregnant.  I had 4 kids & I can honestly say that I didn't suffer at all from morning sickness.  Have you tried trying to eat a dry biscuit?  That helped my friends a lot.  A lot of people find that morning sickness usually stops around the 3-4 month mark.

Good luck & hope you have a great Xmas.

Re: prgnant

Try eating ginger biscuits or drinking ginger beer.  I know it doesn't taste great but it settles the sickness and makes you feel human again.

Re: prgnant

If you try the ginger biscuits, make sure they are actually made out of ginger, and not just ginger flavour.  Most store bought ones only use ginger flavouring, and that doesn't help.

Re: prgnant

Keep a box of jatz or any dry biscuits on your side table near your bed and have some before you get out of bed and get out of bed slowly. If some one could make you some toast and vegemite before you get out of bed that may work.

Re: prgnant

You can try, having a dry biscuits and a drink fruit juice or something BEFORE you get out of bed get someone to bring it to you, or put it there the night before.  Try ginger eatting it or make tea.   There are also those morning sickness tablets you can buy.  Not sure if they work never tried them.  Good luck and I hope it passes soon for you.
