Re: When did u 1st feel your baby move?

Hi Vampy, I had 4 bubs and it wasnt till I was in the 5 month that I felt anything remotely like the bub... I have always been abit soft around the tum so that could have cushioned bubs movements for me. So, if your thin, you will probably feel it earlier then if you have abit of meat on your tum!

Good Luck with the ultrasound!

Peace, Hannah

Re: When did u 1st feel your baby move?

There is no hard and fast time frame for when you'll feel your baby move as there are a number of contributing factors.  Generally, first pregnancy will take longer as you're not really aware of what you're feeling at first.  I also didn't feel mine until about 20 weeks because my placenta was across the front of my tummy which deadened the sensation a fair bit (it took another couple of months before my partner could feel her kick).

Good luck with the scan!

Re: When did u 1st feel your baby move?

With my first baby, I was about 19 weeks before I felt anything, but with my other 4, it was around 10 weeks!

With my first, i felt little sliding movements first and then the booting began.  The others started the same way and finished the same way lol.

When I've reached about 32 weeks, the movements were huge, and for me, they never got less or smaller!  they say that the bigger bubs gets, the less big movements they make, but that just wasn't the case for me.

Re: When did u 1st feel your baby move?

I felt flutters at around 16 weeks with my first. I didn't know what it was at first, but as it got consistent, I suspected it was the baby.  With my 2nd pregnancy (twins), I felt them move at 12 weeks.

During the early pregnancy, the flutters are random and they are very low near your pubic bone (if this is your first). As a guide, the height of the uterus reaches the belly button at 20 weeks. So if the flutters you feel are somewhere below half way from your belly button to your pubic bone, then it's probably the baby.

Re: When did u 1st feel your baby move?

Hi there, the only reason I knew I was pregnant was at about 6 weeks when I had 'butterflies" you know that nervous sensation that feels fluttery in your stomach! This continued until I was about 18 weeks pregnant. After that, I felt definate movement. By the time I was 24 weeks, the cherub was busy doing mini aerobics. After that, it was fun laying on the couch and watching my tummy poke out and wondering which baby bit was doing it ...a foot, a hand, an elbow...hmmmm! The movement seemed to slow down a little once bub got bigger, I guess there was a little less room for movement! However, there was definately activity! It was particularly uncomfy when bub got head down and was using my ribs for kickboxing practice!!! Once you start feeling bub moving about, you will definately know! It could start anytime soon! Congrats and enjoy!

Re: When did u 1st feel your baby move?

My first pergnancy i felt flutters at 12 weeks and the first big movementa t 18weeks which i also got to catch on video which was kool.

The first flutters were literally like butterflies in the tummy. The big ones were kinda like rolls int he stoamch, as if the baby was running his fingers along my insides. Sounds gross but its kool.

Just wait till your 30 weeks+ and thebaby doe sthe mexican wave. Id be eating dinner and lift up my top saying "look, look" lol, the baby woulld fully be popping out at one side. It was so kool. I know pregnancy is hard but enjoy it, i hated being pregnant but i miss watching my belly moving around, i miss my belly all together,

Congrats on your bub!!

Re: When did u 1st feel your baby move?

With my first I felt it at around 16 weeks, it was kind of a fluttery feeling in the belly. By then time he was 25+ weeks, his kicks were very painful and I actually jumped when he kicked me plus you could see my stomach move when he kicked.

Im currently 12 weeks pregnant and havent felt anything, as I wouldnt expect, but I would assume to feel it around 16-20 weeks.

Re: When did u 1st feel your baby move?

Hi there.  Congrats on your bub!  It sounds to me like this is your first rpegnancy?  If that is the case there is really no way to tell when you will feel it move, as everyone is different.

I felt the butterfly feeling from about 15 weeks and definite movement from about 18 weeks.  Some women say they feel it at 10 or 12 weeks but my OB said it's pretty well near impossible to "really' feel anything when the fetus is literally the size of a peanut and has no "bits" to wiggle.

At 11 weeks the baby is about 4cm long and arm and leg buds have been growing.  By 12-13 weeks the baby is still only about 5.5cm.

So don't be alarmed if you haven't felt anything yet; it's early days and you still have all the wonder to come.  Relax and enjoy your pregnancy and marvel at the little life you are growing.

And men think THEY are the clever ones LOL
