talking in 3rd person

Hey all sorry been awhile since I have been on.  Dealing with lots of step parenting drama!  My step son's mom is a b*tch and a half.

Sorry not the reason for my post just a little venting.

My question is about my son.  He has been talking in the 3rd person for a week now!  I am not worried its anything serious but I was just curious if any other parents been through this cause truth be told its getting really irritating!!!!!  He says stuff like "Trent's hungry "  Or Trent is cold!  lol......... I must admit I got on him for calling me Rebecca and not mom, he stopped that after I took the wii game from him.  How did I get him to stop or to stop it from irritating me further?

Re: talking in 3rd person

ok, we have similar problems here.  Especially with our oldest calling me Arna and her Dad Les! lol.  It is cute and we just let it go.

As for him talking in 3rd person, well, hubby (my live in pyschology encyclopeadia! lol) says it is a learned behaviour and that the only way to get him to stop is by not doing it yourself.

Ok, you have no idea what I'm on about.  How many times do you say "mummy is going to...."?  It is the exact same thing!!!  I just realised I'm guilty of it too! lol.

Now you are asking the impossible!  I don't know how to reprogram myself, so I can't help you there!  I guess we just have to accept that our kids are going to do it and know that we taught them, which is a good and bad thing!
