Re: early start?

Start with the books with nice big colorful pictures, or with touchy feely bits. You can do lift the flap or pop up, but at this age she might just  rip them off.  My kids did.  You could also try not so much reading the book, but talking about what is on the page.

Good luck

Re: early start?

My kids have always loved books and reading right from a young age.  For your little angel start off with books that have big pictures and no/few words. My son at that age especially loved the animal books because you can make funny noises to go with the pictures etc.  Point out the eyes and her eyes and mummy's eyes but don't dwell on each picture for too long because she will get bored very easily.  Also try the books with touchy feely bits in them and lift the flap books are always a hit but don't expect them to stay good for long!

Reading is great to encourage a quiet time in the afternoon, but not too late that they are cranky.  My little fellow now sits next to me and 'reads' his own books while I read mine! (He is 24 months)

Good luck!
