Balance during pregnancy

Everytime I fall pregnant I seem to fall down a lot, with Damian i ended up with a broken ankle. Yesterday I fell twice twisted both ankles bruised both knees and scraped a knee as well and ended up with a sore arm. I was wondering if it is just me that has balance problems during pregnancy or do other women get it 2??

Re: Balance during pregnancy

Omg i thought this was just me lols. Iv been falling over a fair few times in the last month. I thought it was due to my centre of gravity moving.

Re: Balance during pregnancy

hello,   firstly, are there any trip-me-overs around your path?  need to remove them regularly

secondly, is there a possibility that you may need to have your eyes tested?  perhaps you may need spectacles

thirdly, investigate with your GP, maybe there is another underlying problem, like middle ear infection, etc, effecting your balance

Re: Balance during pregnancy

Your joints become looser, some muscles tighten and some muscles weaken... You are very prone to ankle injuries so you need to take it easy.  Obviously, as mentioned your centre of gravity changes, as does the alignment of your spine etc. so be very concious of how and where you walk.

Re: Balance during pregnancy

Hi, yes, its common during pregnancy. Your centre of gravity changes as your belly grows so this is why you are falling all the time.

During my 2nd pregnancy I broke my foot (with only about 2 weeks until I gave birth) by falling over! My husband was amazed as I fell over NOTHING!
