Can enjoy little things...

I want to start off by saying how useful i find minti. I have never gotten the advise i needed and it helps alot now.

I now need parent's advise. After my son was born naturally i never got my old body back but that is something i enjoyed. But after he was born my breasts kept growing. they are now at the stage that i cannot wear underwear anymore coz it hurts to damn much.

No one can explain why they never stopped growing and i dont have any milk at all.

I do not have a medical aid or the funds to have a breast reduction done. Do anyone have any advise on what i can do? It really meddles with life in general. I cant buy decent clothes, but more sad i cant run around and play with my son most of the time coz if my back doesnt pain i have sore swollen breasts that has no support whatsoever.

Please help with advise????

Re: Can enjoy little things...

I hope this helps,

My local Bras N things has a shop that is stocked full of bras for bigger women,( /larger breasts & small body) i always go there and they are really helpful, you can find some suppliers on line, they often have an out let where you can try them on, i also found that a really good sports bra, like a berli T3 was a great help, and Bonds puts out a great nursing singlet that has a sof bra build in to it, or you could try some where like Myer, they tend to have a good range and 9 times out of 10 have a profesional lady to fit you,

Good luck

There is also a company in QLD called "Big Girls DOnt Cry (anymore). They have mail order catalogues and tell you how to find out your size, they also offer help over the phone. The websire is www.brastogo.com.au

Re: Can enjoy little things...

Well the soreness is a separate issue to the size so I'd see a doctor about that.

I developed big breasts after my daughter was born & they've stayed that way since. I got used to thinking it wasn't possible to get bras in my size so I made do w/ whatever I could squeeze into & took them off as soon as I could... Then about 4yrs ago I met a couple of gals who made mine look like nothing & I noticed they wore bras... So I got up my courage to ask how they got bras to fit. They knew of a shop that specialises in hard-to-fit women. So if you're in Melbourne, I know exactly where to send you. I won't go so far as to say it changed my life, but it has made movement & clothes a lot easier.. Can you believe it; I can actually wear a bra for 20hrs now if I have to; no pain (tho its a good idea to treat my breasts gently for 20mins while they adjust after I take it off). I went for the no-wire, pure cotton variety. You might want the no-wire sports variety since you sould a bit more active than me.

But if you aren't near Melbourne all is not lost.. Look about you in your daily rounds to spot a big girl who wears a bra & ask her where she gets her's. Forget about all the major stores; they don't carry our sizes; you'll end up getting something that doesn't fit in pure desperation then going home & making yourself miserable with it. I never tried it myself but a girl I knew used to bind her breasts. Seemed like a lot of work to me but she swore by it; she used very broad linen bandages & huge safety pins to hold them in place.

Do see your doctor tho; breasts shouldn't be painful all the time. especially since you aren't feeding any more...Maybe you've got cysts from blocked mammary nodules or something! They would need to be treated or they'd never get better. Perhaps a women's health clinic would see you for free if you explained?

Good Luck
