I have a 15 month old and have been looking for bikkies for him..something relatively healthy..I found some Wiggles honey biscuits with no artificial stuff and wondered would they be ok for him? They do have a small amount of honey in them and I know littlies of a certain age arent supposed to have honey..just wanted to make sure..Thanks

Re: Wiggles snacks

This isn't really an answer to your question but my 15mo LOVES the Heinz Little Kids cheese bread sticks.  They do cheese & vegemite now too.  They help her teething but aren't messy like rusks and they have added vitamins & iron - no sugar/colours/flavours.  We get them from IGA and they are $3 for 12 but they last a while (she goes back to them)  Give them a try!

Re: Wiggles snacks

we had a dietician come and visit and she told us that kids over 12months are fine to give honey, the honey probably with honey is if its really fresh, like fresh from a beehive as it can still contain spours, as for the actual wiigles biscuits a lot of the other mum's buy them for their kids it's just that my kid isn't into sweet biscuits like them for some reason.

Re: Wiggles snacks

They would be fine as the biscuits have been cooked you could make your own biscuits then you know what's going in them

Re: Wiggles snacks

They say not to give honey to children under 2 because of boutlism ( think that's right)  Read the label, and see, but I would like it would be ok as they've been cooked, at a high temp it probably would of killed any bacteria in there.

There is probably a number you can call on the box to ask any questions if your not sure, but I think they'd be ok

Re: Wiggles snacks

My son is now nearly 19mths and he has been having honey on his cereal since he was about 13mths.  I have heard different stories that you should give honey to children under the age of 2 then I have heard it was 1year old.   The reason for not giving honey is 'cause of the botulism (sp)  which can make children very sick.

Check out these websites http://www.cyh.com/HealthTopics/HealthTopicDetails.aspx?p=114&np=302&id=1927  and http://homecooking.about.com/od/foodhealthinformation/a/honeyhealth.htm

I would think that it was ok to give the biscuits to him, what does the packet reccomend?  If it says 12mth + then I would give it to him,  just watch him to see if he has a reaction.

Re: Wiggles snacks

You can also get them in choc chip if you are not sure about the honey. But i will say keep a close eye on him while he is eating them because they are small biscuits.

They are great biscuits, i give them to my son because he doesn't eat anything with artifical colours or preservatives.

Sorry i couldn't help with the actual question.
