Re: toilet training.

My son is similar - we toilet trained, he uses the toilet to do wees and saves up his poos for when we put a 'night-time nappy' on.

Give it a go -  but if it doesn't work, or becomes too stressful, it is ok to wait.

Look for signs - my boy would become quiet and stand behind the couch when he needed to poo. He is just starting to tell me about his need to poo (he's 3 and  a 1/2). Good luck.

Re: toilet training.

This is always a hard time for parents.  One way to do it is to watch him and if you see him touching himself, sit him to the potty.  Let him watch his father in the toilet and make a fuss when he hears the sound of urinating.  Keep the potty out where he can see it and let him sit on it even with his nappy on.  Children are not all the same and will be potty trained at their own pace.  Good luck

It perfectly fine to potty train him even tho he doesnt talk well... I did it with my son and it turned out fine, You just have to tell him everything... like when he wets his diaper you say he went "peepee" (or what ever work you want to use) and then tell him he does that in the potty!
