Re: toilet training

15 months is a bit early for most kids to start toilet-training. Most don't get the idea until they're at least 2, more commonly 3, sometimes even 4 years old. Toddler day cares have nappy change facilities and most of their kids still get about in nappies, it's not a problem for the carers at all. Check with the day care centre, but  most will just require you to send her with a bag containing her nappies, baby wipes, nappy rash cream if she needs it, and a spare change of clothes.

Re: toilet training

There are loads of toilet training articles on Minti - take your time and trawl thru all the ones with 4 or 5 stars!

I also came across this "readiness quiz" recently - think my 29 month old is nearly ready to go, except she has just decided potties and toilets are "too loud" but cries when she uses her nappy or has an accident - aargh!

Potty training is one of those parenting things that cause most parents lots of anxiety. My advice - read up, relax, take your time!

Re: toilet training

One go way to intro the big toilet training concept is to calmly start to read age appropriate books on toilet training, this helps your little one begin to know what a potty is and toilet and what goes inside it.

Here is heaps of info written already by many Minti members within this site it is really all awesome contributions right from their own challenges and experiences, click here to read what articles, comments and discussion on this very sensitive topic is offered, this link is a search on Minti with many tips and remedies all in this one place...

For me I realized like some parents, that it is in fact the parents that need to be trained on how to toilet train...and reading advice really helped us, as it did take a really long time for us to "get it" before our little one "got it"
