Daughter behavoural problems

  • When frustrated or angry bangs head on floor
  • Selfharm – biting on wrists when  frustrated or angry
  • Constant screaming tantrums – 15-20 outbursts per day
  • Self exploration – touching private parts on surface or internally  inserting objects such as pens, batteries, toys
  • replicates this action on her toys
  • When in high chair or car seat hands on crutch and rocks backwards and forwards
  • When put to bed after happy going to sleep playtime – loves tickling . Summer will then tantrum when it is time to sleep as she wants to play more and when door is closed and she begings to settle we find her with her hands between her legs of inside of nappy.
  • Even when hands removed from nappy and after falling asleep Summer will again return her hands
  • Touching herself inappropriately at kidnergarten  or in public
  • In shopping centre with mum while looking at clothes Summer moved to another clothes rack removed her pants and nappy and laid on floor putting her fingers inside herself.

  • Summer has severe speech delay and see’s Jo at Port kembla hospital for assistance. However this has been very infrequent and inconsistent with a lot of rescheduling or cancellations by practitioner.
  • Developmental dealy – pre-school observation and assistance in fine and gross motor skills, interaction (inclusiveness and social skills development) – Summer always plays on her own or with baby dolls – obsessively.
  • External aggressive behavior towards people and pets – outbursts of hitting or head butting people who try to re-direct or dicipline Summer when she has a tantrum.
  • Tatrums seem sudden and for little reason – Summer is often very sensitive in that when something is not how she wants it or even without cause she will snap and tatrum or become frsutrated with things she can not do.
  • Ear bleeding and agrivation when in public places when there is a lot of ambient noise or lots going on around her. Example – Kids Wishing Tree Event Summer had to be treated by First Aide for significant bleeding from ears, holding her ears with hands and banging hands on ears clearly upset and disturbed.
  • Grunting or communicating with noises – often with new people she meets – friend of mum’s etc when communicated with – say in saying hello will grunt or will get upset when talked to.
  • Summer refuses re-direction attempts (focuses more on what is upsetting her), difficult to settle after outbursts and does not respond well to time out often screming and tantrums if she does not get her way.
  • Tried breaking habbits with little success – giving bottle at bed time to  redirect hands activity and comfort, keeping her in nappies to make it harder to access private area’s.
  • No sense of fear – Summer recently began to try get attention by doing fearless acts such as walking or standing on a bench chair and without warnign jumping off onto concrete and then when she realises it hurts she bangs head on same surface.
  • Crying fits in sleep – especially in morning when she is beginning to wake from sleep she will often have a 20 - 60 second crying outburst and then re-settle and return to sleep – this will happen 2 – 3 times every morning
  • Summer is able to when not upset comminucate in understandable english and tell us what she wants or needs however when upset her langauge deteriorates and is not able to be understood often.
  • Summer is always sayig she is thirsty – drinks 3 – 5 litlre of liquid daily – water, juice, or milk and very infrquently cordials but not soft drinks (rare).
  • Complains of sore stomach on occasions.
  • Does nto laike walking takes the seemed lazy approach to movement – wants to be carried for example, or picked up.

  • History  / Background During pregnancy especially 3rd trimester the presence of physical and mental domestic violence towards Reanna including being punched and kicked to lower abdomen and being thrown to the floor. This resulted in DOC’s assistance in an AVO being issued and police intervention and removal of risk to mother by relocation.
  • We suspect the large birth mark area to Summer’s upper right leg is as a result of the domestic violence.
  • Summer’s natural grandmother is allowed access or for summer tohave overbight stays however has recently without permission allowing Summer to stay at her natural fathers with his partner and secdon child approx 18 months old boy.
  • Summer returns often from her natural fathers very tired, grumpy, thirsty (drinks 2 – 3 cups of drink).
  • Natural father has also history of drug use (non injected) and alcohol abuse and obvious agression and control issues – fathers partner also strong personality type with aggressive tones.
  • Unware of living and risk conditions at natural fathers – health and hygenine such as eating and foods, exposures to alcohol or drug use, or sleeping / living conditions.
  •  Summers touching herself began shortly after being taken by grandmother to natural fathers 3 ½ weeks ago. We don’t know what she has seens, heard or what was happening there.

  • Attempts for professional / medical assistance GP visists re-touching and tests also for urinary infection. Twice approcahed GP.
  • Booked in with 6 week wait for Dr.Kristitis  (Dec 4th appointment)
  • 2 ½ days in hospital – tested for potential sexual abuse and internally examined to find no evidence of sexual abuse other then redness inside and some scratching of inner walls which may have been from her own self actions. Blood and urine tests conducted also.  This was done under supervision of Dr. Hartman the hospital pediatrition.
  • Have requested appointment with Dr.Karitani for behavioral assistance.
  • Dr.Hartmand referred to PANOC howveer DOC’s seems to feel Summer will nto meet the eligability requirments for treatment or assistance.
  • DOC’s is currently controlling all associated medical or pediatric support and is in progress of assigning a case worker. Doc’s have been quite unhelpful and beligerant and seem to have it fixed in their minds that it is a current living situation issue rather than a potential external (natural Father) related issue.

  • Home environment Summer has her own bed and sleeping area (not shared).
  • Summer attends day care 2 days per week – Monday and Friday
  • Reanna settled in long term healthy relationship and habbits of house cleaning and care of the children
  • Supportive and caring partner – treats children well and have good rapport with children – treats as own children, children call partner Dad by their own choosing .
  • Positive approach to parenting and children from mum and dad (partner).
  • Assisting the children at home with learning and helping the kids to reach developmental milestones such as counting, alphabet, mannors, behaviors, etc. Invloving kids with creative outlets such as cooking and helping with meals, darwing, outside play, fishing, going to the beach, house choses, house habbits such as cleaning up after playtime.
  • can anyone offer any support or knows of anywhere where i can get these matters addressed, this is my last resort.

red skin

A family friends son who is 15 has redness along his arm bones. He has been to the doctors but they dont think its anything serious because the skin feels the same temp all over, he hasnt had any temperatures and his blood tests come back fine.Could this be some type of allergy? Reaction to a new soap or washing powder? He is a thin boy, so we thought maybe its the bones irritating the skin?

3yr old refuses to poo on the toilet

If anyone can give me some advice on this, I'd really really appreciate it as this problem is getting worse...

My 3 yr old is completely urine trained. In fact, she is always in undies, even sleeps through the night in them without a problem.

Our problem is, she refuses COMPLETELY to poo on the toilet. We have tried pretty much everything. We bribe her (my husband told her a couple of nights ago she could go look at xmas lights AND go buy any icecream she wanted if she pooed on the loo). We have tried the star/sticker charts. No interest. We have taken her to the toilet when we go. But she just wants a nappy on. If we don't put one on her, she holds it in until she's constipated, then we give in and put a nappy on her.  Then she goes off somewhere private, does her poo, then wants to be cleaned up right away. Its like shes ashamed of pooing?

I am starting to think this is a huge problem for her. I would really love some advice on this, I don't know what to do and its upsetting for all of us.

STAY AT HOME PARENTS

Can anyone out there assist?

for the first time in my life I finally got to fulfill my dreams of becoming a fulltime mom.

For the last 8 weeks I have stayed at home wigth 2 15 month old boys and a 5 year old girl (starting kindi next year).

Unfortunately, as I am not getting much mental stimulation anymore, I tend to have erratic mood swings.  Unfortunately for my daughter, she alway happens to bear the brunt of it.  I never ever realise how out of hand she can get.  for about 2 weeks I just let everything she did wrong slide, and then one night, I cracked.  I had had enough of her nonsense and whinging and whining.  I shouted and cried and yelled.  She was in tears too.

I felt so guilty for putting her through that.  I can't believe I did it to her!!!!

DH seems to think it's because we don't get out enough to socilaise with people of our own intellectual levels.  He mae just be right.

I love my kids so much.  I would do anyting for them!  I waited so long for them and to become a full time mommy, I'm scared I'm going to ruin ot and my daughters life.

Can anyone out there offer some advice?  Please . . .

loosing school friends.

I have a bit of a dilema concerning my daughter and her two best friend!

I was great friends with their Mum's and so our kids were able to go on playdates to each others houses and sometimes did sleepovers etc.

But over the past 6 months these two Mums have had their relationship deteriate to the point where niether of them will speak to the other. Worse still, even though I tried to keep out of the whole mess, now one the Mum's seem to not be talking to me either!

Normally I really wouldn't care one way or another. But it is affecting my child now because she can't understand why I don't just phone this Mum to invite her friend to come over or go to see if she can go to her friends house to play!

It also has impacted on her frienship with another child because things are now so bad at his home between his Mum and Dad that he and his Mum moved out and went to live with his grandparent, so Charlotte can't play with him either!

I am unsure what to tell her because it is a really unbelievable situation of gossip, lies and interferring going on and I don't want to expose her to it - I mean I am an adult and I'm having a hard enough time understanding what the hell is going on! What do I tell her?

Early pregnacy bleeding

I just found out im Pregnant with baby #2 and very excited.  However last week I had some spotting.. Is it possible I could have had a miscarriage? The doctor says light bleeding happens to a lot of women and they healthly babies but I have had none of the symptoms I had with my first pregnancy.

My son wants to touch every thing .

My son is 20 months. He can't set in one place . He wants to touch every thing.

for example, if I take him to my mum's house he touches the vases, hits the tv  by hand , takes anything placed on the table. I asked him to play with some toys i bought but he wanted to try new things in mum's house.

2nd problem,  When I visit my sister's home my son wants to play in his cousion's toys . But the cousin (2 yrs) doesn't want to . So they fight or hit each other. I tried bringing his own toys but nothing change. They would fight.

I'd like to hear what you think of this ?

thanks

Does anyone else have any stories about their 'weird' pregnancy symptoms?
~ You know, the ones you never get told about
I for one get REALLY itchy feet! I have to go outside & rub them on the concrete for 10 minutes...
I also have a 'mole' on my stomach under my right bra line, It's usually a nice browny colour, when I'm pregnant, it goes pink. ~ That's always the first give away, even before my first missed period!!!!
