Some anniversaries suck especially the ones that deal with the death of a loved one.  Five years ago I lost both my wonderful Grandmother and my Father in the same year only 4 months appart and this week was my dads birthday and the anniversary of my grandmothers death.  I hate this week every year as it brings back a flood of memories that make me happy and sad at the same time.   Happy because they are such wonderful memories and sad because they are no longer here to share them with me.  I hate being an emotional wreck because I have no control over my feelings and everyone in my house suffers for it.  

Anyway this is life and we have to push on and try not to take it out on the ones that we love but it's hard when you get depressed about it ..... you get into a funk and just don't seem to be able to get out of it.  I think my hubby understands but my kids don't and it's so not fair on them when mummy gets grumpy and they don't understd what death really is so therefore they don't understand why mummy is so sad.

I had a wonderful day today I caught up with a very special lady who I haven't seen in over a decade.  She was my best friends mum.  My friend passed away when we were just 15 years old after being involved in an accident - car v pedestrian.  It was so very difficult at that time as my girlfriend was her only child.

Today bought back such wonderful memories of my friend and of the wonderful mum that she had.  We have spoken often and I always remember to send her a card for easter and christmas so it was wonderful to have her come over to have a cuppa and for her to see all my children.  I am so lucky that she is still in my life because it keeps me aware of what a wonderful person and friend her daughter had been to me.  I will never forget her.

May she rest in peace in love and light  -  goodbye again my friend I love and miss you.

Well it's been a frustrating few weeks here in our little household.  We have taken away Little Miss 3's dummy which has completely stuffed up her sleep routine to the point that she now no longer wants to go to sleep until her eyes have hit her knees and she is hysterically over tired which is generally around about 10 - 11pm at night and then she is up at 5.30am.

Not to mention the fact that it looks like we may be going to live in China for a year for my husbands work but getting his company to give us the final yes it's happening is like pulling teeth.  It's frustrating because we have so much to organise but can't do it until we have gotten the official ok.

Oh well other people have had worse things to deal with than this I just needed to get that off my chest!!!!

So I hope everyone has been having an absolutely wonderful year so far.

Oh well I'll ... Wow it's been such a busy week this week.  Starting with a doggy rescue on Monday morning after dropping my hubby off to work.  I was driving back to pick up the eldest for school when I saw the most gorgeous little dog almost get skittled by a big 4WD.  He was only a pup with absolutely no road sense and no collar on, so I stopped my car and called him over.  He was not afraid at all which made me think that there was someone who was going to be really upset that he was missing.  I knocked on a ladies door to see if she had seen him around, hoping that I might be able to find his owners right there and then, but no.  So I took him home.

I did all the usual things rang the pound left my name and his description, rang the local vets and did the same thing.  Waited a couple of days but no one claimed him.  So I put signs up down the street I found him on hoping that would work.  Next morning I received a phone call from an exstatic young man looking for his little dog.

Happy to say the little dog that my kids named Jack (he was a jack russel) was returned to his rightful owners non the worse for wear since he didn't have to be couped up in a cage at the pound.  With some motherly advice about making sure that their little dog had his collar on next time.   I'm still surprised that the guys didn't ring the pound but I guess when your that young you just don't think about that stuff.

My little ones were very upset that they had lost their little dog even though we had explained that he wasn't ours to keep and that we would have to give him back if the people who owned him came to get him.

But my logical ten year old stated "that since the owners didn't have kids and that they hadn't made sure he didn't run away we should be allowed to keep him"  Mmmmmmm outta the mouth of babes heheheheheheheh.

Jillofalltrades This weekend has been the biggest writeoff for quite some time.  I don't know where the time went.  We decided to have our house valued and I have been running around trying to get it sorted out so it looks presentable but it doesn't seem to be coming together AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! Then we went to a party last night for a friends ... Then we went to a party last night for a friends 30th (Geez I felt old!!!!) and another friend of ours who is pregnant - only 1 month go was there ....... god help my husband I got so very clucky!!!!!  He really needs to go do that snip snip thing  LOL!!!!!!  Then our friend who's birthday it was tells us all she's pregnant, our sons are only 2 weeks apart in age we were both due one day apart me on the 1st sept and her on the 2nd  2005.  Anyway I kept thinking about my little man and how quick he has grown up and wishing that he was that tiny little dependant thing I had for that short period of time. 

I must be insane to even contemplate the idea of another child at my age but there I was thinking how wonderful it would be to have another little Josh (2 girls and 2 boys would be nice).   Then I got to thinking about how hard it would be to try and carry (with the complication I have) another baby and deal with the two little ones as well and it just isn't viable so guess I'll just have to spend lots of time with our friends.  LOL

Anyway you get that, guess we all feel like this when you know its the last and you just want to hold onto them for as long as you can and keep them little.

Jillofalltrades Wow has it been that long since I dropped a blog in here.   Guess I'm having too much fun with Selly's teachings It's been stiffling hot here and the kids are really feeling it to the point that their tempers are frayed and patience is non-existant (oh hang on that's my patience LOL!!!!!!).Little miss 3 is in the bad books after ... Little miss 3 is in the bad books after breaking our expensive stereo system that hubby and I bought for each other as a wedding present.   (we still cant locate the missing piece).  She's just lucky she looks so damn cute!!!!! They all had swimming yesterday.  Little miss 3 had her first lesson in the pool without me and it is a worry because she is so confident in water she barely listened to anything the teacher was telling her, she kept swimming off.    I think master 1 is going to be just like her, he had his first ever swimming lesson yesterday and all he wanted to do was swim on his own only problem is that he would have sunk to the bottom if I let him go!!!!!!! Miss 10 has started doing swimming squad, I think we have finally found a sport that she is good at and likes to do.    Mmmmmm it will be interesting to see how long that lasts!!!!! I'm really looking forward to going I absolutely love my s-i-l but I'm nervous ... I'm really looking forward to going I absolutely love my s-i-l but I'm nervous about flying in the US.  If it was just me going It wouldn't be so bad but i'm taking my little man so I'm a little more concerned.  It's going to be a very long flight with three changes and a stop over in LA for the night.  God only knows where I'm going to stay.  It would be nice to be able to stay somewhere between the airport and some of the tourist attractions.   Since I get in very early in the morning so I would like to be able to have a little wander around and take some photos.

However this morning the lioness in me just wanted to scratch this childs eyes out!!!!!  

My eldests little friend has been coming over to play the last couple of days.   Now I'm of the opinion that if the friends come over to play you must always include the others that live in that house.  I don't expect my eldest to play with the little ones all the time but there are certain times that I do expect it and this is one of them!!!!.

They wanted to play out the front (I have a very big driveway) I said that they could as long as they let the middle child play outside with them (my daughter knows the boundaries of my driveway especially when little miss 3 is out there too).    Now this is where I saw red!!!!!!   The little friend looked at me and said quite matter of factly said "I don't like that one!!!" and pointed to little miss 3.   (Taking a deep breath and keeping myself in check!!!)    "Well" I said "If you want to come over here and play then your going to have to like her!!!!"   "Oh!" was all the answer I got.   I then turned around and walked away seething.  

Now as an adult I know kids can be cruel and don't think before they speak but this is still my child he was referring to and therefore my role as a mother is to protect.

Anyway they played for a little while and then apparently according to the eldest he asked her to go riding with him.  Now instead of her saying no because I have strict rules about where she goes especially when little miss 3 is out there, she got on her bike and took off with this kid with little miss 3 in hot persuit out onto the road.   

Sufficed to say that she is currently not allowed to play with the little friend since she doesn't seem to be able to respect the boundaries that I have set.  I feel horrible and I like that she is making friends in the neighbourhood but I still have rules that I expect she and anyone else that comes to my house to follow.

It's sad that our kids don't get it until they have their own and then turn to their parents and say "Now I understand why!!!!!!"

I had to laugh yesterday when master 1 decided to try and feed himself for the first time.

Ahhhhhhhh to be able to fall into a big bath with some nice lavender in the water and lie there for an hour wouldn't that be bliss.     Unfortunately for me if I tried to do that Miss 3 and Master 1 would want to join me and then that would be the end of my relaxing moment.  So until I can go away for a weekend without my wee little charges I guess I'll just have to find some other outlet.

You know it's always amazed me how a person could take the life of a child.     Yesterday here in my own little community just around the corner from my house someone took the lives of two children by shooting them.     Now i'm not going to pass judgement as no one knows the full facts behind what happened, but it chills me to the bone when I look at my babies and think about it. 

The poor little things haven't even had a life, they are too small to defend themselves against the evil before them.    It really makes me sad, I love my kids and no matter how mad they make me I don't think I could ever bring myself to harm a hair on their heads.

Todays was yet another large battery operated device (we are keeping duracell open!!!)  Her Aunt and Uncle gave her an Ariel Talking Salon which of course also needed to be assembled god what ever happened to being able to buy a toy that you didn't need to put together and that was easy to get out of the box!!!!!!!  Anyway I finally got it together and off went little miss 3 and master 1 to the bedroom to play hairdressers.

Ahhh well 1 outta 4 aint bad!!!!   I managed to make it to the gym after only 4 hours sleep at 5.50am.  I started the day out really well until my girlfriend dropped over ... My new years resolution was to get back to the gym (that's a 5.30 start blah!), not to drink soft drink or eat chocolate or ice cream.

Ahhh well 1 outta 4 aint bad!!!!   I managed to make it to the gym after only 4 hours sleep at 5.50am.  I started the day out really well until my girlfriend dropped over to pick up my eldest (her god daughter) for a sleep over.  She presented me with a christmas stocking full of chocolate that was going out for only .98c at the shops (yeah great thanks there goes my butt and thighs again!!!!!).  So of course I had to have one.    Followed by lunch which was a very healthy salad I might add.  

Later that afternoon my other girlfriend and my god son popped over for a swim she didn't want a cuppa she'd much rather indulge in a diet coke, so of course I couldn't be rude so I joined here with a coke.   (Damn willpower where is it when you need it)

Followed by my husband arriving home early to a very healthy and hearty soup (it's the only way I can get a grown man to eat vegetables, come to think of it this works well with my babies too!!!!).  I thought  I was going to make it until he pulled out Alexandra's left over ice cream birthday cake!!!!  That was it he produced 2 spoons I just couldn't have him eat all of it ....... it wasn't good for his waist line!!!!!!!!   LOL

Anyway tomorrow is another day, I'll start again fresh with my 5.30 start at the gym.!!!!!!!!!!!
