Rylan is suspected of having autism, so there have been lots of doctor visits, and stupid paediatrician surveys and assessments.

Husband and I are in the process of separating.

Yesterday our squish decided to walk. He has been walking holding one hand for soooo long, and occasionally taking up to 7 steps alone but with encouragement... Yesterday he just kept walking. Everytime he fell down, he stood himself back up and walked more! It was so cool. He has also given up his dummy. It has been just over a week now and he is sleeping fine without it.

My boy is growing up.

oooh almost forgot.... our snake Emily laid eggs 2 days ago! Hooray!

Doing this has really boosted my self esteem, keeps me from getting bored, and hopefully will put a little extra cash into my wallet.

Rylan is still not walking... We can get him to take a few steps occasionally, but he gets scared. Ry does occasionally stand up by himself though. This has only started in the last week. He just lets go of what he's holding onto for about a minute. It's so cute. He can stand himself up from sitting without using his hands now, and he gets so proud of himself, he laughs, then falls back down!

Not much else has happened lately.

Today I got a bit of time to myself to work on my old hebel block carving. I have almost finished it now. I would like to do another one soon. I found it very theraputic with the music cranked up, making a huge mess in the backyard, singing and getting messy.

Since then, he wants to walk everywhere, but just holding one hand. He laughs while he's walking like he can't believe what he's doing! On the weekend I thought I'd try putting his push along bus in front of him. I stood him up, put his hands on the handle, and off he went! He loves it. He zooms around the place, until he hits a wall and I have to redirect him. It's so cute!

Lately he has just done so many new, crazy and cute things. It makes me so happy I get to see him learning these things, pulling new faces, playing new games...

We had an interesting time, as usual, and were visited by some local wildlife... This time it was an eastern long necked turtle having a wander in the backyard - usually get visited by lizards, snakes or birds at grannys. We gave it a pat on the head, touched it's shell and let it go on it's way.

I gave mum a haircut while Rylan had his nap then we just relaxed until we went home.

Money is becoming an issue again, as our car got hit again while parked out the front, this time adding $1000-$2000 damage on top of what was done the last time. Of course, they just drove off, and didn't leave a note, AGAIN! GRRRRR. Our car looks pretty trashed now and we have no idea who did it.

On the weekend, the lock on our front door jammed up again, and we had to get a locksmith out.... $92 just to come to our door!!! It took him less than 30 seconds to pick the lock... Gee I wish I got paid $92 for a 5 minute drive then a 30 second job!

Anyway... that's my winge for today.

ok, so far he says Dad, Bird, Doot (we don't know what it means, but he says it so much it must mean something) and now BOOK! He was reading his animal book last night and talking to it as usual, when he said Book! He said it a few more times, then put his book down and started playing with something else.

How exciting! I just wish he'd say mum now ( he only ever says mum while he's crying).

3 needles! Ouch! Poor little angel screamed and cried so much, it was horrible. So many tears I almost cried. I really wish they could just put it all in one syringe instead of 3! Now I know what my parents meant when they used to say to me that it would hurt them more than me! I used to think, "how can me getting a needle/bloodtest hurt you more?"!

He has crashed out now. I hope he is feeling ok when he wakes up.

They had to leave early sunday morning to get back home. They never get to stay long enough due to their work, and living so far away. I really wish they lived closer to us.

I gave Rylan's hair a trim as his fringe/mowhawk was too long (down to his mouth) and hanging in his face all the time. His first ever hair cut.  He was born with a gorgeous black mop of hair, and it never fell out... it just faded and sort of shaped itself into a mowhawk...and grew out of control!

Today he had ham for the first time, and loved it! He also tried sultanas for the first time on sunday... not too impressed, but he didn't hate them. And he tasted some lemon juice I was putting on my fish... he didn't like that.
