wow i cant believe the school holidays are nearly here again the school year is starting to go real fast. Unfortunately the holidays go slow, making it harder to keep the kids occupied without costing a fortune.

wow its been so long since ive been here... too much work and not enough relaxing really gets to a person. I dont know about everyone else but i am looking forward to the christmas break with a holiday planned, time off work and time to spend with the kids...something to cherish and enjoy while it lasts.

dry season

well its now our dry season, its good but bad. no more sudden downpours of rain, but everything is drying up. all the polen and flowers are out, it looks and smells great unless you a parent of a child with asthma and/or eczma. the kids miss playing in the rain and it gets so hot they want the sprinkler or hose on. oh how i really miss the different seasons in so many ways, the change of the leaves etc, but then i definently dont miss the freezing cold weather. i think i much prefer the warmth of the sun and if i get sick of it i can just go on holiday to the cold areas lol.

childrens little habits etc

my 4yr old son is going through the WHY stage, its so frustrating, i never realised how lucky i was that my eldest didnt go through this. I find it quite funny how each child goes through these different stages, always with different things, my two children are so different, it helps to understand and appreciate each childs individuality.

ok i should probably look into this myself, but is there a relevant place on this site where i can get people to post some nutritional and healthy recipes for school foods? like snacks, bars, biscuits, cakes etc? if there is do people post recipes, if there isnt, would anyone be willing to share their recipes?

kids and pets

My parents cat had kittens a few months ago and i let my children choose one each, as they both adore animals. They each named their kitten, my daughters is CAT and my sons is TIGER, not very original, but an achievement of their own. I have given my eldest, 6 the responsibility of ensuring their water, food and milk bowl is full, which she is loving and doesnt even see it as a chore. It is amazing how gentle and caring children are with small animals when taught correctly. It also gives them a companion and a sense of real ownership, you see how proud they are when a visitor comes and they introduce their pet, and tell the visitor they named the cat all by themselves. I just love seeing my chldren happy and full of smiles it is the best, makes you feel like the effort you put into raising them is paying off.

damn virus

well im back online, my pc got hit by a virus that shut down everything. cost a fortune to get fixed and didnt want to put off christmas presents so i had to wait. i bet everyone is looking forward to christmas, all the new joys and experiences for the kids and parents. the fun of family being together. all the presents and food, im not looking forward to the extra weight but hey its once a year, so everyone enjoy it cause i will.

school holidays

well im glad the school holidays are only fro one week, i have my own kids, plus my sisters 2, when im not working, they can be quite a handful together. took them to the beach this mornning to run off some energy, worked for a little while till we got home. by friday night i am gonna be pulling out my hair and be glad for school to start.

kids new expressions

we all went fishing today, the kids dad bought a boat a couple of weeks ago, i hooked a shark, only a baby, didnt get it in the boat but the kids saw it. oh my god they would not shut up lol, they thought it was great, so did i, just to watch their expression, thats the best a kid with a new expression, full of excitement and wonder. more fishing trips to come and the kids are really looking forward to it.
