Age Now: 17 Height: 5'6" Weight: 130 lbs
Ruiz, of the Needville area, was last seen on Wednesday at about 9 p.m. as she was leaving her place of employment, The Swinging Door, located at 3714 F.M. 359, Richmond.

SUSPECT: Charlie Lucas Zelaya Age 19Zelaya has several tattoos on his left and right arms, chest and neck area.

He and Ruiz are now believed to be in his vehicle, which is a white 1999 Ford extended cab truck similiar to the one pictured above, with the license plate 9XN-Z50, police said. They said Zelaya's truck had damage on the right rear side.

Along with a history of domestic violence, detectives said they learned that Zelaya is very possessive and controlling and has threatened Ruiz’s life if she ever left him.

Zelaya currently has an outstanding warrant for class A family violence, contempt of court and aggravated kidnapping.

Zelaya was supposed to report to a court hearing Friday regarding a protective order that was filed by Ruiz.

Radioactive material goes missing in Toronto. Radioactive device taken in car heist
A car stolen this week in the Don Mills Rd. and Sheppard Ave. E. area contains a device that could leak radioactive material, police said.

The four-door purple Nissan Altima went missing from where it was parked on Parkway Forest Drive sometime between Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning.

A locked yellow box, containing a densometer, a device used in road construction to measure asphalt or soil density, was reportedly in the car's trunk, said police.

Police said they can't tell whether the car was targeted. Const. George Schuurman said the device could leak radioactive material if opened or damaged."It contains radioactive material and that's dangerous," he said.

Stephen Browne, a radiation safety officer with Troxler Electronic Laboratories, which makes the devices, said most have two sealed sources of radioactive material contained in stainless steel capsules.

"The capsules are inside other capsules, so there are a lot of layers of protection," he said. "There is a small hazard, but it's not life-threatening. As long as the handle is raised up and locked, it's very safe."

My mother in law left on Sunday...it's hard to believe, but I actually enjoyed her visit. She was helpful with the kids (even though it took the kids about three days to adjust to her) and the cleaning and was good to talk to during the day. Usually when she comes she gets on my nerves with her cleaning and piddly stuff, but this time I refrained and we had an enjoyable visit. I wish my mom could come and help out and stay a week. She hasn't been able to do that since the birth of my first son three years ago. The dishes are piled up in the sink today and I feel like a mess!

The other thing that bothers me is that my three year old won't leave my six month old alone. Every time I put my six month old down somewhere or in his exersaucer my three year old bugs him causing him to whine and cry. If I'm not holding him I'm nursing him or trying to keep my three year old away from him!! This is driving my crazy today! I am lucky to get a break! It has taken me all day just to finish this journal post!

I don't know how I get through the day sometimes! If you are reading this and you go through anything similar let me know or give me some advice on what you do to get this to stop! I have tried time outs, spanking and even time alone with him, but as soon as the attention is off of him (my three year old) it starts all over again! I hate being out numbered during the week!

Well, it's almost time for my husband to come home...Thank God! Maybe I can finally have some peace while I take a shower! I have to go since baby is crying again!!

thoughts on birth control for pre-teens/teens

Teen birth control is a hot topic in the news lately since some schools are now considering offering birth control pills for pre-teen and teen girls. There are already several schools across the country in the US that offer condoms, now they want to start offering birth control pills! What are your thoughts on this?

Those who are for this say there are some kids who do not have good parents/adult role models to teach them about safe sex and use of birth control so they feel the schools should have it available. Those who are against it believe that it should be left to the parents and feel it would be better to have sex education and counseling in place for those students who may be at a higher risk to become sexually active.

Personally, I feel it is better to leave it to the parents. The schools should not be in the business of providing birth control as this teaches a mixed message that pre-marital sex and sexual activity is acceptable as long as they use protection. Sure we want our kids to use protection if they do decide to make this decision in their early years, but I think the best protection is education from parents and schools promoting abstinence. Parents should be the ones who make medical decisions for their children and taking any form of birth control, such as the pill, should be a medical decision only parents should make. The schools should not risk responsibility of kids having medical conditions or risks develop from taking birth control pills. This could make schools liable to lawsuits.

While children are our future, we need to be careful who protects them and how our children's health is protected. It is unfortunate that some children don't have parents or an adult they can turn to when they are pressured into sex or taking drugs. These children often make poor choices based on peer pressure, but if we can do our part as responsible parents then hopefully those children who do not have responsible parents can learn from the kids who learned to be responsible and refrain from the consequences that pre-marital sex could cause.

Has anyone hear heard this tragic news? It's so sad to hear news like this. I don't know what happened and if anyone hear has heard about this, but it is so sad. There are just too many cases of children getting abused, abducted and murdered around the world. I hope whoever did this is found and punished appropriately for life!

My husband had just finished changing our six month old after he awoke from a full nights sleep. He was bringing him into our room to nurse for the morning, where our three year old son sneaks into sleep on his Superman bed at the foot of our bed during the night.

Our six month old was well aware that he was going to get fed soon, as he usually does after a changing. He began anxiously crying more and more as my husband entered our room. As they got closer and closer the baby wailed even more. Then, suddenly we hear our half asleep three year old son exclaim, "Quiet, you brat!" We both kind of looked at each other and laughed as we had never heard him say this before.

Yeah! My husband brought home lunch...it was yummy. Now we have to go shopping and then it's margarita night! I only get one but I like my margarita's. It is so nice having him home early on Friday's...the weeks can be so long home alone with the kids. It is suppose to be a really nice weekend too!
