My bestfriend's son is going to celebrate his 18th birthday next week and I have no clue what-so-ever what to gift him. I know he is good with sports and loves hockey. I thought of getting him a pair of some high end ice hockey skates, but I am not sure which one to go for. I know his shoe size from his mom and that he generally plays forwards in local tournaments. Just not sure if hockey skates is such a good idea or if there are other good ice hockey related gifts available. Someone suggested me the custom mini hockey sticks option but I need something which he can use. Any ideas?

I have always had this issue with gifting. Everytime I end up giving the wrong gifts :) I really don't know if it's just me or people just hate what I gift them!!
