I love this song! My Dad always sang it to my two brothers as they were growing up and I want my two boys to learn it too. It is a song about mateship of two brothers amoung other things. It is very sad but special. Have a read you will see what I am talking about!!

Two Little Boys

Two little boys had two little toys
Each had a wooden horse
Gaily they played each summer's day
Warriors both of course
One little chap then had a mishap
Broke off his horse's head
Wept for his toy then cried with joy
As his young playmate said

Did you think I would leave you crying
When there's room on my horse for two
Climb up here Jack and don't be crying
I can go just as fast with two
When we grow up we'll both be soldiers
And our horses will not be toys
And I wonder if we'll remember
When we were two little boys

Long years had passed, war came so fast
Bravely they marched away
Cannon roared loud, and in the mad crowd
Wounded and dying lay
Up goes a shout, a horse dashes out
Out from the ranks so blue
Gallops away to where Joe lay
Then came a voice he knew

Did you think I would leave you dying
When there's room on my horse for two
Climb up here Joe, we'll soon be flying
I can go just as fast with two
Did you say Joe I'm all a-tremble
Perhaps it's the battle's noise
But I think it's that I remember
When we were two little boys

Do you think I would leave you dying
There's room on my horse for two
Climb up here Joe, we'll soon by flying
Back to the ranks so blue
Can you feel Joe I'm all a tremble
Perhaps it's the battle's noise
But I think it's that I remember
When we were two little boys

Written and Sang by Aussie Rolf Harris (have a listen to the song one day if you have "two little boys") :) Take Care

Change is as good as a holiday?

They say "change is as good as a holiday". Thinking of that I can't go on a bloody holiday I might as well get a change. So thought the most easiest thing to change for a woman is her hair.

They say "change is as good as a holiday". Thinking of that I can't go on a bloody holiday I might as well get a change. So thought the most easiest thing to change for a woman is her hair. I went into the Hairdresses yesterday and I said "I have $200 (my sis gave me $150 darl) Could yo please give me a hair style where people say, I didn't recognise you". I didn't care what she did as long as it was a change!! So 3hours later (took a bit to get me to look good) I walked out of the Salon feeling like $750000 (not quie a million). No I feel great and look like a new a person and the best thing is there is not one person yet who hasn't noticed my hair and commented on it. My daughters keep on saying "you look so pretty mum" "I love the colours" . Mission accomplished. But I wonder how long I can feel good about it? Wouldn't it be good to be able to get your hair done at least every second day? Though I probably wouldn't be able to stop looking in the mirror (so vain) LOL!!

Take Care, all ya

From the SSSSSmokin Mum (hehehehehe just for a day) xx

I have recently been strugglying with my depression on a low dossage and have been thinking about visiting my doctor to have the dose increased again. I decided to have a browse on the internet to see if their is some way I could help myself deal with the stress and problems in my life and I strongly think I have found it. Now I know there is many people who think that this may be a whole lot of hobble gobble (I always did) but after just one session I could feel the benifits. I am stronly going to reccommend this to anyone who feels they suffer from high stress levels and it is Meditation. I have done it twice now after the kids have gone to bed and I have woken the last two days feeling more alive and happy. I googled Meditation and had a look around a few website till I found the right tecnique I thought suited me. To all the mums out there who are looking for answers to stress. Give it ago! it cant do any harm, Can it?

Poor Josh didn't eat a thing yesterday and was suffering from vomiting and stomach ache, lucky though he was drinking constantly throughout the day because by the end of the day he was just passing fluids and vomiting water. He even looked so sick, I think if he was in a crowd I would of had trouble picking him out because he didn't look like the chubby full of life bear I know and love. The little prince went to sleep after a drive at about 7:00pm but didn't last long before he woke up screaming and was saturated through his nappy which was just changed 1 hour before hand. I then got him out and changed his bed and clothes when vomited all over the kitchen floor (carpet) and his clean clothes.it was horrible the poor thing, I could tell he was really suffering. I ended up putting some flat lemonade in his bottle to give him some energy back and I then layed him down with me and he went to sleep for 1/2 an hour before it all started again. 2:00am I finally got to lay down myself and get some rest before I had to get up at 5:30 to get ready to attend a meeting. The little darling woke up with a smile though and I knew he would be better today when he didn't refuse his breakfast. Now full of cheek, laughs and eating again it was worth no sleep just to see him happy again.

True Sharni Spirit "Sometimes she gets confused" Could not get more of a great natured person though, a heart of gold who cares for everyone.

Sharni Starts "Big School" this year and is really looking foward to it. I am so worried about her though because she can be a little nieave and I fear that her wonderful nature and personality will get taken advantage of and will change as she gets older. If she does stay the same she will be the most wonderful person who could be any ones caring friend. Fingers Crossed Sharz wont change a bit xxx

The boys are fighting over the toys each one got off santa but I dare say it wont be the last time. Some great fireworks displays over the Country and the world New Years Eve. Our family watched a great display, probably the best I've seen the only thing we sat a little close and was showered in ash. My cousin ended up with a blister on her head from a bit of debre but she said it added to the atmosphere "lol". I wonder what all the fish think of the bits that end up in the harbour after Sydneys?? Hope All have a great New Year and Take Care

Soccerballs, footballs, Basketballs, Tennis balls, Golf balls, Bowls you name it. If a ball game or Bowls was on television he would want to watch it and cheer. Since he started walking he began picking up stick and hitting the balls with, so I thought maybe he might enjoy golf and went to the local Golf Course and bought him some cut-off golf sticks and a little golf bag (so cute). The Pro golfer told me he was Left handed (just like mum :) when using the stick so I got him so leftys. Anyways he is now obsessed with golf balls and always wants to play with his "golf ball stick" and is developing a strong hit. He carries his 8 golf balls around in a little wiggles backpack and screams if anyone (especially Prince 1 Josh) touches 1 of them. But not something to worry about, I just hope he continues with his passioin and becomes good enough to play Pro one day (dream). But definately no pressure!!

Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.

As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant, they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit.

If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love, for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is perennial as the grass.

Take kindly to the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world.

Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

I asked my 5yr old to give them some bread a couple of days ago and break it up really little. The little darling broke the bread up in little peices by biting bits off and chewing them before feeding it to the baby chicks. This morning I woke up after mother Hen and she told me that she had alredy fed the larger chickens and got the little chicks food and water. The little darling hadn't even had her own breakfast. I think she is going to make a wonderful mother!!! (She even crushes the chicken food up with a large stone so it is easier for her babies to eat)

How proud am I of my 6yr old daughter? She has just told me that she is reading level 21 in her reading group at school and there is only two other in her year one class that are above her reading level 22. She has always enjoyed reading and being read to since she was 8mnths and has just scooted ahead with her reading. I spoke to her teacher recently and he told me that although she is the youngest in her class she is one of, if not the brightest student in her class. She has also just completed a "bad behaviour" group where she was nominated by her teacher to attend as a mentor to show the children with behaviour problems how to be well behaved and deal with confronting problems. How proud am I? I am getting a tear in my eye writing this....Well done sweety you make mummy proud!!
