The past few weeks have been so bad, back on the 16th July our lovely cat Berry didn't return home, by the weekend we were worried and by the following Monday I was out putting up missing posters for her. Some neighbours who have 3 of their own cats helped us look that evening and have been since, although Sarah had to go in to have their baby last week. I called the police after a week of her not being seen, we thought she may have been stolen, although until I said that the police weren't interested. I gave them all the details and finished the call, within 5 mins they called to say that an officer had reported a silver tabby in collision with a car on the main road just the other side of the cemetery from us, that was all they could say. So, given that info, we searched the area but no sign of her (we don't know for sure) So I'm so upset, spent 2 weeks crying on and off, so wish she would come back or for at least for us to know where she is.

I then get the news that friend in hospital had baby but baby turned blue, she'd pooed the waters, emergency c section and now in SCBU miles from home as immediate area is full, she's stable and I hope I hear she's home soon.

The third and hopefully final bit of bad news, best friends mum had a bad fit and lost her memory, luckily it will return but it may take a while.

Yesterday I took Daniel for his first swimming session with Aqua Tots! He was asleep when I got there so wasn't too impressed when I took him out of the buggy to get him ready, but as soon as I picked him up he quietened down and was so good in the pool. We had lots of fun, starting with just bouncing them up and down, then resting them on our hands holding their arms and pulling them round in a circle and all the time Dan just looked at me and made a few smiles. We gave them a ride on our front while swimming on our backs, they were safe as they had a float around them and their mummy, Daniel splashed me all the time saying ba, ba, ba! We finished off with chasing a ball around which Dan liked, I let him get it in the end. Both of us enjoyed it and we're looking forward to next week.

Tired today, and the boys are so having a nice relaxing day at home.

On Friday night I put the boys to bed as usual at 7.30, then went out to do a little shopping and then picking up chips on the way home. We had the food and I was planning on having a shower when Ham called me having gone into Daniel who was crying. Ham had found a spot on him and said to do the glass test. I grabbed him and went to the kitchen, to my relief it faded but he was still a bit warm and not his happy self. I called NHS Direct once Ham had come down from upstairs and while talking on the phone saw more spots come before our eyes, I came off the phone and within a few minutes decided not to wait for the return call but to go straight to A and E, the nearest being 20 mins away. I thought I'd give our local hospital a try but had no luck, the casualty dept is no longer open at night. On arrival at Cheltenham General we were seen almost straight away, little Daniel was put on a bed and the nurses checked him over, eventually calling special care for a doctor to come down, he came almost immediately and took blood from Dan, most came back ok within the hour but the meningitis one would need a few days. So, to be on the safe side they decided to treat as worst case scenario and Daniel was put on a drip of antibiotics, the first over an hour. He was also to be admitted, but to the Childrens Centre at Gloucester Royal, not to the Battledown Ward upstairs (no admissions at night) so a little later an ambulance was called.

I was so worried about him I just watched him constantly, even when the man in the bed in the same room (with the curtain pulled across) had a fit I stayed, although I could quite easily have ran out with the panic just listening to it.

As the medication for Daniel came to an end, I moved the car into the car park and put a note on it, and the nurse called for an ambulance who were there in 2 mins, they were sat outside having just rushed someone in.

We had a nice little room in Gloucester, meals were given for me as I was breastfeeding and by the Sunday Dan seemed a lot better. It was put down to a virus but with the temp he had plus the rash it was enough to send us running for help, so glad I did and even happier he is ok.

My son James is 3 today!

What a wonderful day it has been. Slept in until 7.50am when James woke, I'd been up around 4 to feed Daniel, he's got a cold at the moment, bless him. James came into our room and didn't give up talking to me until I got out of bed and dressed. Ham woke around 8 and we all had breakfast while Daniel was still asleep. Before Ham went to work we watched James open his presents and while I had a cup of tea Ham and James had a bit of Daddy and son time and did 4 jigsaws together, so nice to see that.

At around 10am after getting Daniel up and dressed, we set off for our local chapel, they hold a playgroup there for anyone, regardless of whether you are religious or not, and it is a really nice friendly atmosphere. I took along a little chocolate for all the kids there and ginger cake for the adults, which wasn't finished so I left it for them to use at the coffee mornings they hold each week.

12 noon unitl 2pm was James party, 12 little ones, one play zone and food and drink, it was perfect. They all played well and a few ate well too, but most just wanted to play on the climbing frames, tunnels and slides. James loved it, food that he liked and the friends he will go to school with plus a few friends outside of playgroup and a place that he knows well. There was a slight problem with the service, they forgot the ice cream, and the cake, and the party bags so we had to chase them up. A misunderstanding over the cake, member of staff bought it to us and after James blew candles out asked if I wanted it cut up, I asked to take it home and he went to get the box. He returned, no box, and told us the cake was only the bits in the bag. It said on the info I had we get a cake, so in the end after explaining it we were given a free cake, think they should make it clear in future!

We came home tired and James opened the presents which were lovely, played and just enjoyed himself until he came to me for a cuddle, my cue to put him to bed.

James woke at 7.15 this morning so I sleepily went in to see him, put the programme Milkshake on for him and returned to bed to grab another 15 minutes before getting up to get ready. 15 minutes turned into almost 45 minutes, oops! Quickly got myself washed and dressed then James, Daniel was just waking so we both went in to sort him out. By 8.30 we were downstairs having breakfast and by 9 just going out to the car, getting to Mum and Dads to drop Daniel off about 2 minutes later. So, a bit late but I wasn't worrying just yet, we set off to Charlton Kings, had a quick look at the map and found it was not far from where friends used to live. Arrived with 10 minutes to spare, walked in and there was already a class in action so James watched while I had a chat with Lisa who runs the club, she did say he might not join in just watch for this one!

Finally James group went in and we were introduced to 2 staff members, both called Amy. We all sat in a circle while they took a register, then did some marching on the spot, clapping hands, crouching and jumping up. James joined in with some of it and smiled all the time! The little ones were then given quoits and told to put them on their heads and walk around, then stop and tip head forward, so tipping it off the head onto the floor, James found this hilarious! Eventually they got to go on the apparatus around the room, he loved this and found one he could do over and over again, to the point of a little bit of crying when called back to a circle for a song with actions then a little bit of chocolate to end the session. Then it was back to the car and back to Daniel, and we stayed for dinner at Mum and Dads before going home.

Have enjoyed this week! James didn't have playgroup Monday or Tuesday afternoons as a pipe had burst due to the cold weather so he went to my parents instead giving me a bit of time with just Daniel and a chance to get lots of things done. Tuesday morning I met with friends at our nearest pub that had a play area inside and had a good chat while the little ones climbed on the frames, slid down the slides and crawled though the tunnel and over the rope bridge. It was good to catch up and find everyone had a good Christmas and new year! They all left about 1pm and Mum came to pick James up, I stayed for a meal, booked James's birthday party and then headed to the car to go to Morrisons, trying not to slip on the ice as I walked to the car park.

I can't remember much about Wednesday, can't have done much, think it was spent tidying up and visiting parents for the 3rd time this week. Yesterday was spent at home in the morning playing with James's train set between the feeds for Daniel and then cleaning all the downstairs floors. In the afternoon we were back at Mum and Dads so James could use the trampoline giving Daniel a chance to sleep and me to do the invitations for James birthday in 2 weeks time.

Today so far has been spent playing with trains, helicopters and cars. About to go out to Gloucester to see friends then back to parents for a meal for all of us this evening.

Tomorrow James has his first session at Gym Club, should be good for him and be interesting for me to see if I can get there on time, 9.40am in Charlton Kings, about a 35 min drive away as traffic isn't great getting there! Just hope the boys don't sleep late like today!

I have done very little today. Was up and dressed and giving James breakfast and Daniel a feed at our normal time before hubby went to work but after he went I sat down and just watched James play for most of the morning. I think I only got up to get drinks, snacks and to answer the phone! About 3 ish I did think about going to the shops but it was about the same time that James climbed onto the sofa and fell asleep, closely followed by Daniel who was once again having a feed.

I thought I'd use this time while they were both asleep wisely and made dinner and put it on to cook, beef casserole, yum! Let it cook for 3 hours, the meat was lovely by that time. As I finished preparing food I heard Daniel start crying, he has been so clingy today and James so lively.

By the time hubby got home I was trying not to fall asleep on the sofa. Made coffee and tea, then sat down again! lol Eventually got round to doing some potatoes for mash and had a lovely meal and saved some for tomorrow.

Apart from putting the boys to bed the only other thing I've done is go out to put petrol in the car as off to Oxford tomorrow to meet bro for lunch, he's coming up from London so we meet almost halfway. Off to bed now as hubby already there and I'm really tired today! Don't know why!

Today was my birthday!

Woke at 7.40 to James calling out "purple" which is what he calls the fibre optic light in his room as one of it's colours is purple! After turning "purple" on I returned to bed until our alarm went off, my husband got up and went to James's room to see him and eventually came back to bed followed by James who was carrying a present (box of biscuits) and a card for me, he handed me the card, and, while I opened it he opened the present and then handed it to me! So sweet of him! I was then directed by hubby into Daniels room where a little present from him was at the bottom of his cot (he is still in his moses basket but placed inside the cot) so I picked him and present up and opened it back in our room, more food, this time popping corn (my brother had given us a popcorn maker for Christmas) and then I had a card and box of fruit jellies from hubby.

After getting dressed and having breakfast my parents came round to see us with their presents and then took James round to their house so he could play on his trampoline and it gave me a chance to get Daniel dressed and well fed before I took him round to them, they were looking after them for a few hours. I returned home to find the motorbike already out so quickly put hair up and coats on while hubby took bike to the front of the house. Locked up and jumped on the back of the bike and off we went to Wainlodes (a tiny place near us) and to the Red Lion on the bank of the river Severn. There were quite a few bikes there as it was the Vintage Club's meeting, which we are members of. Saw a few of our friends, had a plate of curry and chips then went in to the pub to have meal before going back into the freezing cold and heading home to warm up! It was nice to get out for a bit and also nice just to have a long cuddle when we got home!

At about 4 we went round to parents house to find that James had had to have a bath after over filling nappy and little Daniel had been crying for food while they were dealing with that! Things had calmed down by the time we arrived and Daniel had just gone to sleep, James was sat on the sofa watching a little TV in the hope he'd sleep. By just after 5 he was getting tired so we had tea that mum had done for us and came home.

The rest of the evening was spent relaxing. Dan was sick all over the place while I was putting James to bed so bath time it was for him. Now, it's just us downstairs watching a film together while I do this!

Such a nice day!

I have had a lovely couple of days. We all woke, except Daniel, about 8 on Christmas Day morning, James came into us after calling us first, thenwas sent back to his room to open a present left on the bottom of his bed. All we heard was "wow, yes!" followed by a few wows as he opened it and realised it was a selection pack, he spent a minute looking at it then bought it to us to show us before dropping it to the floor and heading downstairs with Daddy for breakfast. I quickly tidied up, dressed and then joined them down there.

Daniel woke just after I'd managed a cup of tea so after sorting him out and putting a clean nappy on James we started to open the presents, lovely ones and also James's train set which we put together and he spent from then until 11 playing with it.

Christmas dinner was cooked by my parents and once again was lovely, I've said I'll do it next as they've done it for the past 30, be lovely for them to have a rest! More present opening followed including the trampoline my bro had got for James, it was set up by him and my husband and in use within half hour! We stayed until about 6 when James started getting tired.

Today we had friends coming over to mum and dads so had to be there by 10.30, was really good seeing them and after they left we had another dinner from what was left, then went for a walk in one of the parks nearby, bumping into a good friend while over there. Am just relaxing now, ready to go to bed.

The title really does say it all! Got up after heard James crying so went to him and said it was too early and I didn't feel well. For the first time in a while I put the TV on for him and returned to bed until it started to get light, this was 8.30. After checking Daniel was OK (was still fast asleep) we went downstairs and he asked for some toast, good as he didn't eat at all yesterday just slept.

I heard Daniel about 9.15 and with James I went back upstairs to sort him out and bring him down for a feed. As I was trying to change his nappy James wanted to say morning to his younger bro and while usually gentle, this time he smacked him on the tummy and I, while pushing him away gently didn't see one of our cats behind him so he fell straight to the floor, poor thing. I felt so bad and by then had both of them screaming and the cat hiding under our bed! Eventually calm was restored and went down to feed him, but that sort of set the record for the rest of the day. Luckily James fell asleep late morning so with hubby at work I wrapped Christmas prezzies and finished as hubby's bike pulled into the drive, such good timing and James woke too. James then through 3 paddies, one over me not allowing him more sweets when he'd just had a load, then his beaker was so without warning he screamed at me and gestured to hit me and then when I told him off for hitting and pinching little Dan, another one. Me not been well had very little patience and was saying no at the slightest things, poor James

So, 5pm came and he started crying, said "up, up" with at the mo means nappy and bed. So early but the bug he's had hasn't quite gone so up we went. After I changed him he was still crying, not like him even if ill, so I stood him in front of me and asked him "was it because I've shouted a lot today?" "yes" he replied. So near to crying myself I cuddled him and said sorry. He stopped crying, kissed me and climbed into bed, so good at that!

At least he went to bed friends with me, not upset and knowing we love him. I told him that we might go on a train tomorrow, he's happy and fast asleep now.

I had to drop James at the playgroup at 9.30am and then go to the school hall where the performance would start at 10am. I arrived just after 9.30 after feeding Daniel for a long time then drove to my parents to pick mum up and get back to park the car and go in. When I saw my little one sat near the stage as a shepherd I felt a lump in my throat, was so happy and proud of him! I stood at the side of the hall to have a better view and to be able to take photos, although he saw me he made no attempt to come over to me even when others around him were crying when they saw their parents, understandable if they were nervous though as it's the first time for them in front of people, bless them.

For 2 and 3 year olds it was really well done and enjoyed by all of us, going to make sure my dad comes next year as he wasn't sure he'd have a seat but next year we'll make sure there's room.

We had a lovely night away last night, my friends girls did very well in the play. I was under the impression that it was going to be the usual nativity play ( well, what else at this time of year!) but it was actually the drama group doin The Wizard of Oz and it was very good. It was a late night though for the kids and even later for us as we sat up talking for a few hours after they had all settled for the night.

Today the plan was to get home so we could go to the drop in session at playgroup but this would mean not being able to pick up a present for a friend on the way home and also not seeing my bro in law and his 2 after their school day and we really did want to see them.

Got home safe after a stop near Bristol to pick a present up. Too tired to do anymore so night all.....zzzzzzzzz.......

James has his Christmas party today at half 1 so he's really excited, he's with my parents at the moment as they have him at some point on a Monday, usually after playgroup though. He's also looking forward to a night away and seeing cousins and friends.

The rest of the week consists of the nativity play at James's playgroup on Wednesday morning (the school on the same site include the playgroup in their celebrations) another party tomorrow at the drop in session for the playgroup and mums birthday on Thursday for which I already have present which in past years I've always left til the last minute!

Will be back on as and when I have a bit of time!

As my plans for today were completely thrown out of the window when we all woke late after a party last night and found the friend I was going to see in the afternoon was now at work after being called in, I decided I'd do what I'd had planned for tomorrow - take James out just him and me for a little time to ourselves with James having all my attention. He really likes trains at the mo so I decided a train journey was a great idea and also a bit of time at the station just watching the trains.

I asked my parents to have Daniel and asked Mum to drive us the 15 miles or so to Gloucester, one of the 2 nearest big stations the other being Cheltenham. We got there to find James had fallen asleep but this didn't last as by the time I'd carried him to the doors he was wide awake. We walked through to the platforms and watched a few trains come and go before heading for the cafe for a snack and a drink and to watch the trains from in the warm rather than the cold platform! By now he was wanting to go on one so I got tickets to take us to Ashchurch for Tewkesbury, our small station just outside town. This gave us about 15 mins on the train and James had a huge smile on his face by the end of it! Mustbe done again sometime but maybe when it's a bit warmer.

Was up about 8 to sort some breakfast out for James and coffee for my husband, little Daniel was still asleep up in his cot so gave me a chance for a cup of tea and a bit of time with James before my Mum came to pick him up. Daniel woke about 8.45 so I got him up and fed him, while doing that Mum came and took James to their house for the morning.

I eventually managed to get dressed and was out of the door just after 10 to make the 5 minute journey to the doctors for Daniel to have his 3 month jabs. He was so happy in the car and in the waiting room aswell, then we were called in just as he was settling for a nap!!!! First needle in one side he whimpered a little, then it came, second needle and he really did cry! Poor thing. I dressed him quickly and took him, still wailing, to the waiting room where I fed him til he fell asleep.

The rest of the day he's been OK but a little clingy......hopefully tomorrow will be better!

I'll have to cut this one short tonight, husband a bit down and he's tired so off to bed....night all!!!!!
