Hi Everyone - My name is Rose and my son (who is going to be 12 in a few days) was diagnosed with ADHD when he was approximately 6 years old.  This has been and continues to be a long, hard struggle for my family.  While I have definately seen improvements over the years in many different areas,  I still can't get past feeling "guilty" each time I don't have answers or thoughts on how to help him as situations present themselves.  I find myself always feeling that there has got to be something I am doing wrong as a "Mom" that has brought on these issues.  I am hoping that by joining Minti I can obtain more knowledge from others to help my son handle situations better and in a more positive manner.  He (Jonny) is a very wonderful, loving, respectful, outgoing and intelligent boy but tends to be misunderstood because he is maybe a little to aggressive in how he presents himself.  I feel that although he is friendly and tries, he has a very hard time making friends and I don't know how to help change this for him.... It hurts me that he has no one that he "hangs out with" outside of school.  Does anyone have any suggestions on helping him socialize with other children his age?  I look forward to hearing opinions and suggestions from others.  I try to keep a positive attitude but it is also a struggle.....
