She was running a fever 100.7 for 2 days, I was giving her Tylenol every four hours and she was so grumpy, waking up every hour. Then I gave her some pumpkin pie (just the filling) since it was Thanksgiving, and she started chewing on her shirt alot. She slobbered all down the front of it and just was gnawing away, so I felt and sure enough top on her left side. Then that night she was much better, no fever. Doing great now, still not crawling, rolling everywhere. Smiling all the time, she is such a happy kid! I am blessed. Right now she has a runny nose so maybe the fourth tooth is on its way.

They are still not sure what it is, they think most likely that it is a strawberry hemangioma under the skin instead of on top. But they cant be sure. Now Kimbers weighs 22 pounds and 4 ounces, well as of last Wednesday, she is growing so fast! She is rolling over and can sit up if I sit her up, She cant stop herself from falling over yet, but we are working on that one. And she doesnt sleep through the night yet, but I know she will soon. I am excited just thinking about sleeping and not getting up twice a night! lol.

She got all of her shots and the flu shot, she only cried for about 10 seconds or so. Now I have to get all the kids the flu shot. Kimberly right now has a cough and a sneeze and runny nose, she is extremely grumpy. To say the least. I just got her to sleep, hopefully she will feel better when she wakes up. We are going camping at the end of the month, and then my husband is taking our 12 year old daughter, Cheyenne, deer hunting in Colorado. If she has good grades. So she is trying. I have tons to do before all the kids get home, so till I have more time....:)

WOO WOO... we go back in November to the vascular anomolie clinic again, the radiologist and drs are still not sure what it is on her nose. But the great news is the epidermal nevus is only skin deep, it does not continue through her soft tissues. Or bone. :) She is almost 6 months old, and she rolled over yesterday for the first time. She is doing so great! I will post more pics soon.

So we went back, to the Vascular Anomoley Clinic. I talked to one dr, then another dr, then 8 drs came in, it was crowded! Lol. Then the pediatric Ear nose and throat specialist left and went and got another dr to come in, all the drs examined her nose, a few examined her nevus, and one looked over all of her skin, they talked to me about her nose and I told them how when she cries it gets darker almost black, so after they were turning her head and pushing on her nose she began to cry, and sure enough it darkened. then one dr said it actually enlarges the tip of her nose when she cries. so they all looked again. Then the went out and two came back to talk to me about treatment. They want me to bring her back for an MRI, but to do an MRI in an infant they said they do it under general antestesia, so I am of course worried about that. They said an MRI is the best way for them to diagnose what type of hemanginoma it is. OR it could be a specific kind of cyst that occurs in infants while in the womb. They are concerned about her stopping breathing and that there is still no reason why. It is begining to upset me because her pediatrician never downloads the info from her monitor, and it has a memory on it, and it is 59 percent full, I want to know why she stops breathing and why they are not trying to figure out why. So next time it happens I am going to ask to be refered to a respitrory specialist. Doing nothing is not something I feel comfortable with. Kimbers appointment was at 2 yesterday, so I left about 10:15. and got back home at 7:50. It made for a long day. Traffic is so bad in the bay area! It took me over an hour to go 15 miles. I am going to look into taking the BART. I saw a station a few blocks from the hospital, and that would save me that area of traffic and bridge tolls. I would have to drive about 50 miles then take a train the rest. And that is the worst part, the area where the train would take me. Now I just have to wait for them to scheduel the anthestesia study. (SP)

Kimberly has an epidermal nevus on her left cheek, it is a brith defect, it can have serious complications involving eye malflormations, skeletal malformations, seizures, retardation, (its easiest to google it) So far I have had her eyes tested twice by a renologist (sp) and he said her eyes seem fine. We have had the normal preemie head ultrasound done and it was fine.

So we went to the Childrens clinic at Stanford, they said all we can do at this point is keep an eye on the epidermal nevus on her cheek, if it begins to change then I have to bring her back. Not really great news because there is so much not known about this condition, and this specialist had never encountered this condition before. :( Kimberly also has a few small visible blood vestles on her nose, to begin with it appeared bruised, but it has not gone away. So I had them look at that, and I was kind of surprised with what they said, the dr wants us to come back to a vascular clinic that they hold once a month because her condion can cause her nose to not grow properly, either by not growing at all or by rapid growth, so we are meeting with a team of drs next month so they can decide the best treatment, and as soon as possible to stop it from getting worse.

Kimberly is still wearing a monitor, but mostly at night, unless it goes off during the night then I keep it on her for the next 48 hours. She has only stopped breathing once, and that was very frightning! Since we had the maching settings lowered for her pulse rate it has not went off for low pulse, now it is set to go off at 60 beats per minute.

My other kiddos are such great helps, they are still wanting to help, I know soon that will change but for now I love it. I was worried because Kimberly wasnt interacting at all, no smiles or cooing, but that all changed this past week, she has been making the cooing sounds and even a small giggle. And finally she looked at the rattle toy I bought her. I just keep trying to get her to look at it, at me at anything, and she is!

I listened to her chest still thinking something was wrong with the machine, but it was beating slow. Right now she is awake looking around, but I am not leaving the room she is in just in case. I sure hope she outgrows this soon!

I placed an add on craigslist for formula coupons and I got really lucky, a lady who works at a dr office gave me 10 $5.00 off coupons and 3 cans of the formula.. We got Kimberlys first bill from the hospital and it was over $300,000. More than what we paid for our house, so since I know more bills will be rolling in I am looking for ways to save money. :)

I think because I dont turn on the lights and make a lot of noise, I just change her and feed her quietly. Cole loves her so much! Every time I change her he throws the diaper away, he wont let anyone else do it. He made a flower and a rainbow at school and he asked me to hang them near her bassinet. Kimberly gets shots soon, and I think Khiley is due for a booster, I want to make sure I keep up on that with this swine flu thing going around. I sure hope that it goes away as quickly as it appeared. I have been watching Jon and Kate plus 8, Those kids are so cute. ( I think all kids are cute) Now my kids want to go to the zoo, and chocolate town. I did take them to a local zoo that is very small, they had fun. When Kimberly is a little older and the weather is warmer I want to take them to the San Francisco zoo and the Sacramento zoo. We are planning a trip to Yosemite. I think the kids will really like it, and I have never been so I cant wait. Cheyenne is going to outdoor education camp Monday, and coming home on Thursday, then both of the older girls are going to cowgirl camp in June. Getting busy!

Kiimberly has been a breast milk baby since birth, on the second day in the hospital my colostrum ended, and then with the hospital breast pump nothing was coming out. I pumped every 3 hours and ZERO drops. So I came home, not worried because she was on an IV for all of her nutrients, she couldnt nurse, according to the dr because she was just too premature, so she was doing good on the IV, then they started a feeding tube, alternating it through her nose and mouth to begin giving her breast milk. My husband bought me an awesome breast pump, a Madela Swing, it is amamzing, I have had several different breast pumps through the last 3 kids, and this one is great. I have not been sore at all, no bleeding or cracked nipples! Kimberly had 20 ccs of formula two times so far, because they were upping her feeds and I didnt want her to be hungry while my supply was building. Now we are doing great with me pumping and her getting a bottle feed every 3 hours, and I have been breast feeding when I go in, but because of her stopping breathing and the tube feeding it is not as easy as I would hope, now she is off the tube, hopefully for good, she is doing great, and last night around 2 am I went in to feed her, and she did great, usually she gets really frustrated and doesnt want to wait for the let down and gets really worked up, but last night she latched right on, and when she finally was finished on one side I gave her the bottle, my breast milk fortified with human milk fortifier, something that adds 2 calories per 2 ounces, because I am still worried about knowing how much she is getting, she ate 3/4 of what she normally does, so I know she did ok nursing, now that I can drive again I am going to go down to the hospital for all of her feedings if possible, I want her doing great when she comes home. Last night while she was breast feeding she quit breathing and the apnea alarm went off, Jim looked so scared! I was able to get her breathing just by sitting her up and tickling her under her chin. It is so weird because her eyes were open the entire time, she looked fine, so without the monitor I wouldnt have known. The monitor showed her respitory rate stop, and her heart rate drop, then her oxygen level in her blood dropped to 80. They keep telling me she will outgrow this, and let me say I hope it is soon. She will be 4 weeks old on this comming thursday and I have not even got to give her a bath yet! But I can this week in the hospital so I am looking foward to that!

I go to the hospital every day, I missed 3 visits because I was sick and of course I didnt want her or any of the other babies to catch it. When she does get to come home we have to go see a specialist in Stanford, she has a condition called epidermal Nevus, and no one is telling us much about it. Just that it is very rare, and hers seems stable. Which is great news, cause I dont want it to get any worse. I tried to take a picture of it, but I cant get the camera to focus! Other than that she is looking great, she is now 6 pounds, WOO WHOOO! She cries LOUD, only when she is hungry. I tried to post a pic, but it wont upload....I will work on that more now....keep Kimberly in your prayers.

..Thursday morning I rolled over in bed about 5:30 and guess what, my water broke! Jim called into work, we dropped the kids off to Grammy and Grandpa, and went to the hospital, and the nurse was like are you sure your water broke, and I said pretty sure cause I have never peed the bed! lol, so she does this q tip swab thing and looked at Jim like uht oh! Yup my water broke, dr says to monitor me, decides he is going to try to keep the baby in for a few more days, but that he isnt going to give me anyting to stop the contractions, but he isnt going to try to speed things up either. After about an hour the contractions are getting stronger and a few hurt, then they do an exam and realize the baby is in a transverse presentation....side ways....uh that aint coming out!!! So the did a sonogram to be sure and yup she is in there sideways face down, with her head on the left side. So then I get a shot to slow down labor, and it doesnt work, I cant get out of bed because they are afraid the cord will deliver and the weight of the baby will press on it and block her blood supply. So I get to have an emergency C section.....my first C section. Let me just say Jim looks great in scrubs! So now the people who were suppose to be in there when I have the baby cant be AGAIN! But she was taken with no problem. That test they did, 99% possitive I WOULD NOT GO INTO LABOR IN THE NEXT TWO WEEKS ~WRONG~ the nurse was teasing the dr as the got ready and she said, dr her test came back negative should we send her home? He laughed! So because it was an emergency and the baby is high risk, I got my tubes tied, even though I hadnt signed the forms yet, I was suppose to sign them at my apointment that day.....I love that dr!!! Plus my midwife got to assist so she was in the O. R. too... I got to see the baby for a second as they walked by and handed her through the window to the NICU,
We named her Kimberly Brooke, she weighed 4 pounds, 13 ounces, she was 17 inches long, born at 3:01 PM....the neonatal dr came in and talked to us before we had her and told us what to expect. And then I got to talk to him when I came out of recovery, he said she was doing great, she didnt have to have any meds, and everything seemed to be working... I was a little out of it... the next day I got to go down and see her, and she is so beautiful!!! She had an IV at that point for all her nutrition, but no oxygen or anything else. Yesterday she made it to 5 pounds, she now has a feeding tube, they have been alternating it between her mouth and her nose. She has stopped breating several times, but they said that is normal for a premie her age....FREAKED ME OUT ANY HOW!!! Her oxygen level drops, then her heartrate and all the alarms start going off.....I dont know how much I have cried, hormones and all that....yesterday she only had her oxygen levels drop but not her heart rate. They are trying to get her to nurse but she isnt very good at it yet, I was able to breast feed her a few times, but she is still too young (gestationaly) to do it. The dr said to keep trying and they keep trying to get her to take a bottle twice every 12 hours, yesterday she took 10 ccs, and then 20 ccs at two of those feedings. I have a cold so I cant go in and see her till I am better, I missed yesterday and I am going to miss today....Jim went in though...he is a great dad!!

Sat night I went to home depot to get some things, and started having contractions, and since I have been having them at first I didnt think anything of it, till they started to hurt and were about 5 minutes apart. so we came home and they didnt stop, so I drank 3 big glasses of water, laid on my left side, and we timed them, 3 minutes apart, then 2 minutes, so my sister took me to the hospital, because we were in the middle of refinishing the wood floors, we had rented sanders, and had a house full of people over helping. I felt like a jerk for not being able to help! Then leaving when I had guests. So the hospital tested my urine, and she came back and says that I was dehydrated, ummm my pee was clear! I had drank so much. So they hooked me up to the monitor and gave me some more water and told me to drink it and it would stop my contractions and we would go from there. So I drank it, and my contractions were 3 minutes apart, and at 20, then 30, then 40....so she checks back in and says well thats not working, I better call the dr. so then I had to take some meds to stop the contractions, that didnt start working till 40 minutes later, but I was not dialated, or so the nurse told me, then a shot of some steroid to make the babys lungs develop. Then the dr came in to see me, and he checked me and the nurse said she was about 1 or 2 cm, and the dr checked and said about 2....then I am told I need to have another shot in 24 hours, so I at least got to go home, and I just had to go back the next day. I am taking the contraction meds every 4 hours and they start to wear off after 3. They make me feel funny too, first hickups, then burping (UGHH) then heartburn that is outrageous!! Then I feel dizzy and tipsy, like I had too much to drink. But if it keeps Kimberly in there it is worth it! So today I am sittin in my bed typing this, and hoping that she waits a few more weeks. I was 10 weeks early the first time I went into labor with Cole, and they were able to make it stop for 10 days, and this time I am 10 weeks early, so lets hope this works longer than 10 days, my baby shower is Sat!!!

My husband is pretty excited that I have made it this far, so am I! I am still trying to take it easy, and as all moms and dads know when you have kids that is almost impossible. Lucky for me I have a great husband, and friends. I have been kind of off lately. I am so tired all the time, and I have been getting sick more and more. I have lost 2 more pounds according to my last prenatal visit. I am still taking my anti nausea meds and my prenatal vitamins. I guess the bright side is I am not in the hospital and I will weigh less when I have this baby than I did when I became pregnant. It happened with all of my other babies, but it didnt last cause as soon as I deliver I am like FEED ME SOMETHING!! I AM STARVING!!! lol. My baby shower is fast aproaching, I am excited, my husband has remodeled the front bathroom, we painted it this beautiful light blue, its called romantic isle, and the trim is silver sky (white), we put in everything new except the tub. a white pedestal sink that looks like a roman collum, and a matching toilet, brushed nickle towel racks, and mirror. I am so glad! We also painted the living room and hopefully we will get to the hall way before the shower, but time is running out, we are going to refinish the wood floor too in the kitchen, card room and hallway. TICK TICK TICK !

I am so carefull always, I have no idea how this could have happened! I dropped Cole off at preschool, and did what I always do, look in my mirrors, and over my shoulder to back out of the parking lot, when I got near the street I stopped and checked again, for kids and cars and as soon as I started to go I heard a thump, so I stopped and didnt see anything, but I knew I heard something, so I knew I hit the dog that is always there, so I look in the mirrors and there was a child!!!!! I parked and went to get him and he tried to run off, so I grabbed him and asked him if he was hurt and he freaked out, he though I was trying to kidnap him! He said his knee hurt, and I thought he was around 4 so I picked him up to get the weight off of it, and called 911, for an ambulance. Meanwhile it is pouring down rain, so I try to set him on the drivers seat and he flipped out! So I sat on the ground in the parking lot on one knee and put him on the other, I am talking to the dispatcher and talking to him asking if he knows his phone number, no. Where does he live and he says California. I asked where is your mom, he said at home. Where is your dad, and he didnt answer, he just said he wants to go to school, he doesnt need to go to the doctor. I told him I know, but the ambulance has to come just to make sure you are ok. there were parents walking by, and no one asked if he needed help. After about 5 minutes, a parent stopped that his daughter is in my sons class, and he stayed with us, and flagged down the firemen when they went by. Even the school bus pulled up and all the driver did was honk at me to get me to move my car!!! Do you think I am sitting on the ground in the pouring down rain for my health!!!! So Coles teacher came out because the little girl went into class and told her that her daddy was helping Coles mommy that I slipped. So the teacher thought I was in labor. Then the fire men got there, and checked the boy while he was still on my lap. Then the ambulance, and they checked him on my lap, then took him into the ambulance to get him out of the rain. Then the sheriff showed up and was a jerk to me...I guess he reacted to a child being hit, but I was freaked out enough! So the firemen were told by the teacher that I have had complications with this pregnancy and they said they didnt realize I was pregnant, so they wanted to check me out, and I told them I am fine, I just wanted to know how the kid is... then his mom showed up and left with the sheriff. Then she came back about 5 minutes later, and got in the ambulance and left with her son. I had to wait untill the CHP came to make a report and tell them what happened. I called my husband while I was waiting and I think it is the most hysterical I have ever been, I scared him and he came home from work. I of course started throwing up and I got out of my car in the rain and stood in front of it where no one could see. The sheriff came up and asked what I was doing and I couldnt talk and he noticed and rubbed my back and told me that the boy was fine. I felt so embarased! So after I made the report I had Coles teacher bring him out because I didnt want to drive back and get him in 2 hours, and came home. Then another parent heard what happened and came and got Cole to go play with her son for a few hours, then another came when she heard to see if I was ok, and she told me that the CHP was there asking questions, if there were any witnesses, what kind of a person am I, what kind of a driver etc. I called the hospital, but they wont tell you anything, I called the schooll 3 times. Coles teacher called me and told me that they sent him home, he has a scrape on his ankle, nothing broken and he is fine..... Then the next day I couldnt take Cole to school, I wanted to keep all the kids home, because I am so carefull and I hit a kid, what about the people who are not as carefull! My husband told me no, and he took Cole, I had to go pick him up and I had a really hard time with it. I talked to Coles teacher and she said the CHP came and talked to her and the boy is fine, and the boy said he walked out behind me. That it was his first day walking to school alone. I asked her if someone could get ahold of the parents and see if they need anything at all, bandages, neosporin, ice cream anything let me know! I feel like a jerk! I dont care who is at fault he is a child!!! I started having contractions, but they were 19 minutes apart and never changed. Too much stress. I told my husband I want one of those back up cameras on my suburban now!

My next dr apt is in two weeks, I am so glad I have held on this long. Without the help of my husband who is the best man in the whole world I would have been going crazy by now! Also the help of my friends. When I have really bad days and they take Cole to school and bring him home, or they come over and keep me company, I am so glad to have them! I wish I could afford a maid, just one to come in maybe twice a week and do the stuff I cant, and I am not going to ask my husband to do anything more. I did load the dishwasher and run it today. There is a huge amount of laundry to be done, all of the floors need swept, moped or vacuumed. The kids have been helping alot, and I have made sure that they know that they are appreciated. Not much longer and I will be back to being a house wife instead of a couch wife! lol

I had a low fever, they gave me an IV, did a fetal fibro something test, which came back negative, and sent me home. Then Monday I went to see my dr because I was feeling alot of pressure, and contractions, and I didnt want to go back to the hospital. So they did another one of those tests, checked my cervix, which is soft and open....but the dr didnt want to tell me how far, he said the baby is still high. my diabetes test came back fine, but my red blood cells are low and they want me to take iron twice a day....well lets see put two and two together......I CANT EAT!!! EVERYTHING COMES BACK UP!!! That could be why its low right!!! So I am 2 lbs heavier than I was when I had my first ob appointment. They keep telling me eat red meat, beans, peanut butter. NONE OF THAT STAYS DOWN!!! So I have an appointment on the 19th, and my baby shower is March 7th. I registered at babies r us and target. All of the stuff is pink and brown....I am sooo happy!!!

We have the sono pics, they are awesome! I think this baby totally has my nose, big and wide! lol. It was so awesome, I totally recomend Womb with a View, they were very professional, but friendly, the lady who did my scan was so nice! And it didnt seem like she was being nice because she had to, but because she wanted to. It was very comfortable. There is room for ALOT of people in there, and they have the screen that the tech uses, and then 3 screens on the walls so everyone could see without crowding around. My husband and I are going to go back in a few weeks for more face pics. They also had a picture on the wall of the moms tummy and the dad with his head resting on it, and Jim wants to get that done. I have stretch marks though so I am not too sure about that, the lady said they can do touch ups, but I dont think that would be the answer either. Everyone knows I have em, maybe if they photo like they show up normal that would be fine. We will see. I might go register today, or tomorrow. I dont know yet. My best friend is coming down to visit tomorrow, so we will see. My washer quit too, bad timing! And since it is a front loader no one wants to work on it! GRRR...I think we should just go buy a new top loader so that if it ever breaks we can get it repaired easy. As soon as I pick Cole up from school we are going to the laundry mat, then at 3:30 Cheyenne has a dr apt, to get her stitches out.

My kids are in school now, first day back, let me tell you I did not want to get up this morning! They are excited to go back though. Cole wants to tell his teacher about his dirt bike, Khiley wants to show off her new purse and contents and Cheyenne wants to tell everyone about her stitches, yes Cheyenne had to get stitches again. This time in her upper thigh! Only 3, it was a good one though! Her fat was poking out of the cut/tear. We are still not sure what it is. She fell over standing next to a dirt bike and it drug her a few feet, she said she was poked but we couldnt find what poked her, and it didnt tear her jeans just her skin, a clean split. She can get the stitches out next monday. Last night there was an explosion at the ethanol plant across the street from our house, we were not evacuated or even notified! We heard sirens last night, but the only way we found out was because a friend of ours works in the emergency room at the hospital where the victims were taked, so he called to make sure we were alright! I looked in the paper today and checked the news but there has been nothing reported so far. Guess I will check again later.....
